Oh-oh, Ocho. The Bengals top receiver has yet another name.
The NFL had agreed to let the player formerly known as Chad Johnson wear his new name on the back of his jersey this season. Theres one catch for the receiver: Its not exactly how he wanted it.
Instead of Ocho Cinco, hell be Ochocinco.
The receiver legally changed his name in Florida last August. He asked the league and the media to call him Chad Ocho Cinco, a two-word nickname he had adopted referring to his No. 85.
The league has agreed to let him wear his new name this year, but it will be rendered as Ochocinco because thats how he wrote it when he submitted his name-change form in Florida.
Its his legal name, AFC information manager Corry Rush said Thursday.
The receiver said last year that he wanted his name to be Ocho Cinco. Neither he nor his agent returned phone messages Thursday to discuss the name being one word instead of two. He was still selling shirts and other gear under the Ocho Cinco name on his Web site.

You’d think at some point before he legally changed his name that someone would have pointed out to him that “ocho cinco” is Spanish for “eight five.” If he wanted to be “eighty-five” he should have chosen “ochenta cinco.”
Best name ever.
Why doesn’t he just change his name to Iman Attentionwhore and be done with it?
I think Chad Cinco De Cuatro would be better.
Oh my goodness, I remember him. My husband and I watched the XFL for the five minutes it was on and just giggled every time we saw the back of him.
I think Chad Cinco De Cuatro would be better
Good one, but the president already has that name copyrighted.
So the following year he gets traded again and the new time gives him number 50. He can change his name again to “Fitty”.........
In related news, MSNBC’s show will now be called “Countdown with Keith Seis Seis Seis.”
Scenario: A practice gridiron in Tuscaloosa, sometime in the mid-sixties.
Coach Bryant: Johnson come here.
85: Dude, I just changed my name to Ocho Cinco.
Coach Bryant: {fill in the blank}
Ocho Stinko last year.
It would have been Ocho’s last visit to that practice field, too...ROLL TIDE.
LOL
I still remembered some of my Spanish.
Well, I’ll admit I only know enough Spanish to get into a bar, a fistfight, or both.
Favorite Sports Name: The Big Aristotle
Now Ochocinco wants to change his name to Chad Hachi Go which is japanese for 85.
