Torture is losing issue for Democrats

Not that the Democrats need any help from the sidelines but they ought to give up on the torture issue. It isn't working for them.

The Bush administration is gone. No one on the other side, with the exception of former Vice President Cheney, is speaking up on behalf of brutal interrogation techniques, many of which has since been outlawed.

President Obama has ruled out prosecuting the CIA agents who used them in good faith and, except for the party's left wing, there is little enthusiasm for going after the Bush administration lawyers for their tortured reasoning in support of torture.

It is hard to see what good a broad congressional investigation into interrogation techniques under the Bush administration would accomplish beyond what a pending Justice department report will do. The Obama administration is visibly unenthusiastic about such a probe, and the two intelligence committees may yet decide against it. Even less desirable is a show-trial event like a "Truth Commission" where witnesses receive immunity in exchange for honest testimony.

Even the debate over a probe has become a political distraction. Republicans are demanding to know when and how much House Speaker Nancy Pelosi knew about the interrogation methods when she was a member of the Intelligence committee. One ranking Republican has suggested that she should be the first witness in any investigation.

As a matter of law and policy, the torture issue is settled. The Democrats should let it go.

They can't: The DUmmies, Peacecreeps, Code Pinkos, Kos Kids, Huffingglues and that crowd won't let them. Until President Bush, VP Cheney, Karl Rove, Secretary Rice and those lawyers are all in prison, this'll be an ongoing drama.

I am truly shocked an MSM reporter would be giving Democrats advice. What I would expect is that such advice would be directed to people like Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez.

“many of which has since been outlawed”

‘many has been’? Somebody needs an editor.

No they won't. Have you been over to DU recently? IF not, take a stroll over there and read some of the threads on Obama's decision to withhold the so called torture photos. They are going to beat these issues right into the ground, regardless. These people are lunatics, plain and simple.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that Congress wrote the laws that the lawyers were clarifying in the memos that “permitted” the so-called “torture.” The lawyers were not making up stuff—they had to be reviewing and interpreting actual law. If Pelosi wasn’t a sponsor on the bills delineating what are acceptable interrogation techniques, she sure as heck should have at least read them before voting on them.

(Just like she carefully read the “stimulus” package before voting on it.)

This is a very curious case in the history of this country.

Over the past 50 years the communist wave set up to preen the educational system to create a great tide of those that would fight for the peoples movement.

Fast forward to today. That great tide of numbed brains, who have been taught the evils of America are becoming active in the political field. Taught to be so by their educators.

The rise of "The One" signals the culmination of this Great Tide, "The Change" that they, the majority of the "Educated," have been waiting for has arrived.

In the mean time, the GOP is trying to win the battle in the arena of ideas. they throw out their thoughts and well founded ideas of the foundational principles of this nation, to the masses.

The social Ideas of the masses repel any thought of the foundational principals of this nation , in favor of the needs of the so called "Masses" who are in need of the "FREE stuff promised by the one!

Who can stand in the breach of the one who has preened himself to be the voice of the down trodden forgotten ones. The ones without the STUFF of the favored ones of the EVIL capitalism

This is nothing more than a revolution that we face! The future of this country stands in the balance.

Which way will the ballance fall?

It isn’t torture, except for partisan Democrats. But they’ve managed to be caught lying about it. Can you say backfire?

Even their media press agents, their political doppelgangers, see this as a losing issue for their beloved Democrat party and of course that's why they're advising their comrades to lay off the issue. Don't look for the MSM to go sniffing out embarrassing scandals in the Hussein administration because they see their job as running cover and shielding their fellow Democrats from anything that makes St Barack appear mortal.

There is no longer any sense of shame in the media for what they've become.

They seem to delude themsleves think they’ll remain above the fray as trusted advisors when the suicide bombers come to their neighborhoods.

“There is no longer any sense of shame in the media for what they’ve become.”

Tied to this phenomenon and not a coincidence is the fact that most of the media today shamelessly push the homosexual agenda as their personal, professional duty. Personal shame is something long since abandoned by the activists of the National Gay & Lesbian Journalist Association and its chapters across America (NAGJA).
