Nor am I.

5,000 is a drop in the bucket and insufficient. A good start would be 15,000 and it is probably going to take more than that.

All of Arnold's little games to bait the taxpayers into voting for the Propositions have failed. From what I can see now, he's going to lose. People are pissed, big time.

They made this mess. Let them lay in it.

Yeah. The 2nd article was my post, in fact.

Imagine 18 pages of dense background on Hindelang provided to senior managers of the campaign... and they did nothing. Nothing.

I have an acquaintance that worked for the state. She actively pursued the job, because she wanted the pension. She kept telling me that twice the govenator had cut her salary. I asked if her paycheck was actually lower, she said know. What he really did was not give raises that she expected. I said to her, “No Matter, you are just there for the pension anyway.” And she agreed. She is now retired and collected her pension.

You clearly don't get it. The middle class is being hammered by these bloated governments and they're endless drive for more taxes from the people.

Not to mention, all levels of government, local, state and fed, are jamming their never ending all controlling fees, regulations, and intrusive policies down our throats.

You need to understand, these big government elitist double the size of government in the past ten years.

After these 5,000 go bye bye, we need to say bye to another 5,000.

How dare you discriminate against people who have blatantly broken American laws, marched in protest en masse bragging about it, and arrogantly demand that we cater to THEIR demands instead of honoring American sovereignty?!?!

You racist, you!!!!! [sobs]

</crazy anti-American leftist rant>

With 500,000 workers, they must have monthly attrition of at least 5,000.

“Deep Cuts!”.... “Armageddon!!!”

What a joke they are.

As to the ccPOa, ya got to let a few go cuz they won’t have nuttin’ to do after they let 40,000 prisoners onto the street. [ahaking head]

I understand the concern for the plight of those laid-off, the pain will affect more than just them.

Man, what a mess the state leaders have cooked up in cahoots with voters with questionable albeit good intentions but poor eyesight or forethought ..

They kept voting for more of the same crap and waa laa.

The perfect storm, perhaps... it’s starting to drizzle a bit, them manure pond are gonna stink something fierce this summer in StinkyMento.

Are you sure it is 20 million; isn’t it more like 5, including the military?

Please don’t presume / or assume, what I do or do not get.

I am no fan of big government either, but I do understand that a job loss, no matter the industry, affects real people and it’s usually not the people that caused the problem that get the axe.

A little empathy for real people (like us) is appropriate even if we hate the “system.”

You're welcome... I couldn't NOT pray for them... I know what they will be going through...

My husband has been laid-off for 7 weeks now (he's a precision/prototype machinist), and it's getting rough. Jobs are at a premium right now, and without maybe a move, or a temporary “home on weekends” type schedule the prospects aren't good right now at all...

I would urge everyone who is able to give to their local food pantries and charities (like Salvation Army, or local churches for example). Many like my family appreciate it so much, we would much rather receive TRUE charity than government help, although that might be necessary in the next week or so... It's frustrating to say the least, stressful, and very humbling really when it hits you at a time when you are NOT in a good position to handle it financially...

Sorry, didn't mean to go on and on. I would suggest everyone pray for all those families affected by the IIRC 21 MILLION JOBS lost over the last 6 months, and those yet to come. Many families are suffering right now (and many of us DIDN'T vote for the Obamessiah, but we're feeling it already...)

One funny thing — my husband thought of writing on the side of our car — looking for work/Precision machinist/Call XXX-XXXX. Then my daughter suggested that in order to find a Conservative employer we should write on the back:

NEW JOBS, EH? I'M LAID-OFF!
THANKS OBAMA!
NO I HAVE NO CHANGE AT ALL!

Gotta love it when your kids can still have a sense of humor, and understanding when you're broke! LOL

In March, 62,000 people lost their jobs in California. We’re now at 11.5% unemployment, an all time high. 1 out of 9 Californians is out of work — almost 650,000 people without jobs. The jobless rate for government workers in California is 2.8% Do I feel for all of them? You bet! It’s tough and I’ll lend a helping hand where I can.

But the melodrama surrounding any state worker is waaaaaaaaay overblown, IMO. Especially when they are talking about a 1 (ONE!) percent reduction. This is the same state government who has imposed tax after tax, regulation after regulation, chased out of the state productive business after productive business— and now has a governor who is having a hissy fit that we won’t give him another $16 billion for his pet projects. We spend a billion dollars a year on his Prop49 after-school babysitting program. We have thrown more than $10 billion at his stem-cell research and solar roof boondoggles. Another $50 billion on bonds for everything from bikepaths to farworker housing.

Last week Arnold was talking about hiring a few thousand more workers because he said the “market” demanded more state workers when the economy is down. Would he ever accept a theory that the state needs fewer workers when the economy is up? Not a chance!

Stepping down from soapbox...

Hindelang looked like quite the dirtbag. I bet they were hoping it would just go away because any discussion of the guy was not going to have a favorable effect. That's my guess, anyway.
