The GOP went hard core on everything that didn’t matter. What does gay marriage have to do with anything? If people want to deal with it, repeal Article IV, and it goes away. In the 80s it was prayer in school, and managing textbooks, plus the HUGE expansion of the WOD.

Sure, I have conservative values and agree with a lot of the conservative positions but to campaign on it and ram it down people’s throats loses sight of the core issue: the rise of centralized government.

At the end of the day, I see the GOP and the Dems as doing just pure power-grabbing. I would honestly like to return to a Constitutional republic. If CA legalizes and LA does not, that’s fine. If people want to smoke a bong then, move between states.

It is the Feds that are the problem.

Gay marriage?
Government tolerance/promotion of homosexuality?
Providing the "me first" generations with the substances that are proven destructive?

Clearer heads understand that government condoning (actually, promoting) the self-absorbed lifestyle will damage if not destroy the lives of the children raised by those who practice it. They also recognize that whether we like it or not, allowing the immature easy and approved access to debilitating and destructive substances turns the users into greater burdens on society (and they want universal health care, paid for by you and me?).

I don't want the responsibility for these self-destroyed people and their victims rammed down MY throat... and that's exactly what 'legalizing' deviant and destructive behaviors has done and will continue to do.

I couldn't give less of a hoot about the GOP, unless they start acting like adults and not the "Me Too" to the dims.

Passing or rescinding laws won't matter if the culture has decided "it's ok if you can get away with it".
Ultimately, the US will turn into a police state because no one will give credence to laws anyway. Then force is the only means of maintaining control, whether it's wielded by the feds or the states.

I do not want my children, and theirs ... to be burdened with what the 'progressives' have planned for us and the elimination of moral boundaries is part of their plan.
