Rockstar energy drink founder and CEO Russell Weiner - son of Michael Weiner, aka Bay Area-based, nationally broadcast conservative talk radio talk host Michael Savage - on Monday made a $25,000 contribution to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
Yes, the son of Michael Savage, who just last October was saying Newsom is "in love again with the gay mafia" and "a whack-job as a mayor - 'Any-twosome' Newsom." Yknow, Savage the guy the Brits dont care to have around.
Is this a case of the apple falling far from the tree? It's not as if the junior Weiner has been some raging liberal: He ran for the state Assembly in 1998 as a Republican, touting the fact that he with his dad had founded the conservative Paul Revere Society (later stripped of its nonprofit status, and now redirecting Web browsers directly to Savage's site.)
So what's the deal?
"We're personal friends, went to the same high school at different times, Weiner told me a short while ago. And he's a businessman, I'm a businessman, so I hope he'll be good for the business community if he's governor."
I have a degree in Engineering, but that is not required to count 3 guys on a thread. 1st grade math is required though.
Hi. You might want to educate yourself on California politics before you go attacking people. Out here, when somebody bashes Dubya, Rush, and Sean Hannity, and supports Jerry Brown, and his kid supports Gavin “My Back Door’s Wide Open Now!” Newsom...we usually call him a Democrat.
Yeah, otherwise I'd boycott them.
That won't happen because Savage wants to remain independent, which is fine but he shouldn't complain when the "popular" crowd don't leap on their white horses to his rescue. If you want to play alone, fight alone.
...Savage made a lot of enemies when he dumped on Chuck Poochigian and gave the meximum contribution to Moonbeam. He’ll have to live with it.
That's as spicy as Korean Potato salad.
My son and I are taking Tang Soo Do. I’m learning Korean words and how to count to 20. It’s not too hard but I’m not there yet.
Actions speak louder than words, and Savage’s (and now his son’s) actions scream out.
>> Cry me a river....I dont know what Im talking about when I post a real PHOTO???
Way to miss the point, Raz. You were clearly trying to ridicule Savage’s nutrition books, etc. as “meds” (as in “he’s off his meds”). Calling it “snake oil”. Cute, but it shows how little you know about the nutrition movement, as vital to basic personal freedom for food and medicine in this country as is home and private schooling is for education in this country. Whatsa matter, you work for Merck or something?
As for someone obsessed, I think you are the one that has a crush on your precious “Weiner”, as I see dozens of posts from you trying to convince somebody! anybody! not to listen to him. As for me, I couldn’t care less who listens to Savage or not. Like I say, I don’t agree with him all the time. You want to shut Savage up? Why don’t you team up with your fat friends in England who equate free speech with violence? They don’t have that pesky first amendment in England... Isn’t that nice for you? :-)
My own brother is a socialist and an atheist.
His actions have no bearing on me, and Russ’s have none on Savage.
“...hoping someone tells him that most here at Freerepublic thinks he is a DNC tool.”
Speak for yourself, not for FR at large. If you want to be an ignoramous about Savage, feel free, but don’t include the rest of us in your opinion of Savage.
Unfortunately, you are VERY wrong. Check out today's pathetic Weiner thread. The only one posting on it is the one posting the thread.
My views on Weiner match 99% of all other Freepers. Weiner is an embarrassment to Conservatives when people claim that he is one of us.
Weiner's pathetic daily thread on Freerepublic
As you can see, we love Weiner in droves. In contrast, check out any day's Rush Limbaugh thread. El Rushbo, now that is the real deal, and he won't insult you either.
Kinda like his lawsuit vs Care (or whatever the initials are). He asked for donations and then a couple of months later dropped the case. Do you think the donors were reimbursed? I think not. He's a fraud.
I have a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do! Good luck w/ your Korean studies.
You didn’t post the official thread link. The person who posted that link has been AWOL on TSN for sometime.
So, the fact that Michael Savage donated a large sum of money to MoonBeams AG campaign means what then? He’s a conservative like his son? Whatever.
Yeah, sure. One donates the max allowed by law to Jerry Brown, the other to Gavin Newsome - and you expect me to believe they are on opposite sides of the spectrum? Not buying it.

Your lid isn’t screwed on tightly.
LMAO!
