CA Prop 1A losing in polls 51 to 38 percent
John and Ken KFI LA ^ | 5/12/2009 | KFI

They just reported the insider, big gov elite outspent the little people 20 to 1 and it's still losing *big*.

Check this from the KFI link.

From Sacramento — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is concerned the public may be confused about Proposition 1A, the spending control measure he's backing on the May 19 ballot.

That's because the Republican right, he asserts, is being "disingenuous" in spinning 1A as a tax increase.

It's also because people like me, he says, write about how complicated the measure is.

"It's already complicated as it is," the governor says, "but the more you write about how complicated it is, the more complicated you make the complication."

"Explain it a little bit simpler," he urges in a phone chat.

And how would he explain it, I ask.

"We should just simply describe 1A as a measure that will fix the broken budget system once and for all so that you never have to make those severe cuts again," he answers. "And you never have to go back to the people for tax increases again. That's it.

OK, that's a stretch, but it gets close to the measure's intent...

Never go back to the people again for tax increases?

What a mouth full of waste.

They're reporting it appears ALL of the props are going down in defeat, in a big way.

I have decided that whenever the Democrats (and Arnold) use “complicated” and “complexities”...those are keywords for saying, “I’m being disingenuous.”

“but the more you write about how complicated it is, the more complicated you make the complication.”

LOL! A good thing he never uttered that in my presence!
He would never forget the reply - after I was done laughing in his face.

"From the time they get up in the morning and flush the toilet, they're taxed. When they go and get a coffee, they're taxed. They get into their car, they're taxed. They go to the gas station, they're taxed. They go for lunch, they're taxed. This goes on all day long. Tax, tax, tax, tax, tax. Even when they go to bed, you can go to bed in fear that you are going to be taxed while you're sleeping, that there is a sleeping tax."

- Arnold Schwarzenegger

As candidate for governor.

I am voting against all Propositions. Right now the only proposition I would vote yes on is a Proposition to end Propositions.

It seems that the Proposition procedure is just another way of the Legislature simply not doing the freakin JOBS!! (and then looking to blame the voters)

Oh I think that we may safely assume that Obama will lose his house or senate democRATic majority in the next two election years. Maybe both.

Not to mention the millions that kicked the doors off the GOP big gov house to get away from the stench.

Who's going to fund these top shelf government salaries, lottery style retirement pensions and those lucrative government benefits? I'd guess these big gov insider are in for big rude awakening.

Do not underestimate ACORN/SEIU. I hope you are right.

Maybe some CA residents can help me here. I recall seeing a good article maybe by the (1) conservative lady who writes for the San Fran Chron???

It was after the last election when SF was pushing the sewer plant named after Bush and some other real liberal tax and spend ballot items. They lost. Someone talked to a guy in SF and he said we are all not that lib and the loonies are a lot of renters who flood in when the job market is good. Maybe things are so bad that people in CA are waking up.

I fear RINOS like Crist and open borders are turning FL into CA.

Believe it or not, we all don’t live in California or even know what is going on there. Can you please explain what the prop is?

(9) Unicameral legislature

It's not immediately evident to me why this fits with the rest of the list. Can you elaborate?
