Animals do not have a soul, like man. Read the Bible, there is no reference about animals in heaven. Dogs, horses, etc, are not equal to man. Bhuddists on the other hand believe that life is recycled. If you were evil you can be recycled into a lower form like a worm??? Good people are rewarded with a good life upon reincarnation.
