Trump on Prejean: Same as Obama By: Alexander Burns May 12, 2009 11:26 AM EST
President Barack Obama ended up in the middle of an unlikely controversy this morning the debate over Miss Californias position on gay marriage.
At a press conference addressing Carrie Prejeans disputed title in the Miss USA competition, pageant owner Donald Trump compared Prejeans stated views on gay marriage to Obamas.
It's the same answer that the president of the United States gave, Trump said. She gave an honorable answer. She gave an answer from her heart.
In her own remarks moments later, Prejean echoed Trumps statement, telling reporters: The president of the United States, the secretary of state, and many Americans agree with me in this belief.

Don’t ya just love it when you can toss something right back at em?
Sorry, but Trump needs glasses if he thinks Obama is the “same” as Miss California! :)
Wow, good point by the Donald.
And you know Obama does not believe it, but he was forced to say it to get elected. Now he has to stick by it and chew on his own words.
Wow, your post sure illustrates the old saw of taking the bad with the good. More good please.
Donald Trump on Miss California: Same as Barack ObamaYou know, he's right...
“And you know Obama does not believe it, but he was forced to say it to get elected. Now he has to stick by it and chew on his own words.”
I agree Obama was lying, and that is the difference. He’ll use judges to provide cover.
Yes, I do!
He got it from O’Reilly.
Thank you Jesus and thank you, Donald Trump for defending this young lady and her God-given right to freedom of conscience!
Perez Hilton, you and your friends need to repent of your hatred and cowardice!
Trump is not afraid to throw it back in Obama and Hillary’s faces. Why is nobody in the entire GOP leadership willing to do same?
He should have worn a vest, too.
Sweet. Of course, if it had been Bambi on stage they'd have fallen over themselves to give him the prize no matter what he said.
Was Perez Hilton one of THOSE judges? LOL
I agree that it is wonderful that the Donald threw BO and Hillary in their faces and that he said that Miss California had “spoken from her heart”, but all of that misses the point. The point is that Carrie Prejean was exercising her Constitutional right to free speech not that she was exercising her right to agree with BO and Hillary.
this was a wise decision on several levels
1. The right to believe as we do is fundamental and should be defended
2. As to the photos; this would have to be dealt with, if not now, very soon. Too many girls take too many pictures and post them everywhere, send them via email, and, to be honest, to get a modeling job today, one must not be afraid to show alot of skin.
3. The reaction by the pagent judge ( I will not speak his/her name) required her to defend herself and her position. Since a member of the pagent basically forced her into the defense of herself and her stand ( the opportunity/need to do any pro traditional marriage work would not have presented itself except for the reaction of the judge to her answer) she cannot and has not been reprimanded for speaking on her own behalf regarding those views.
While I did not catch the whole Q and A session, what I did see was Mr. Trump and the pagent people do an excellent job of informing the public about their decision. Did anyone ask if the JUDGES would be selected more carefully in the future, as to not taint the pagent in such a way again?
