LOS ANGELES Aviation authorities say a baggage cart was drawn into an engine of a Boeing 747 as it was leaving a terminal gate at Los Angeles International Airport.
..
.. a baggage cart was being towed by at the same time and the engine ingested one of the containers.
The object was lodged in the outer left-side engine of the four-engine jet.

Good thing it didn't suck up a food cart... or a honey wagon.

There's a video I've seen of a sailor on an aircraft carrier being sucked into the jet engine of a fighter jet.He survived!

They had a situation in Tampa a couple years ago, a flight was loaded up and had backed out enroute to Detroit. As they were starting the jet engines, one of the wing engines had a flameout. All of a sudden several exits were opened and people were sliding down to the tarmac.

If it was a BA plane, they could just pry it out, and continue with the scheduled flight.

Hope it wasn’t the container with Muffy, Fido, and Socks in their pet flight containers.

That is a TriStar, not a 747.

He survived! Only because he had a flashlight that FOD'ed the engine so the pilot shutdown. Otherwise, he would have been the FOD.

Gee, thanks for pointing that out ... the idea was a baggage cart ingested into and engine, not a particular plane as a 747 ... if you can find one of a 747 with a baggage cart stuck in an engine then post it ... K?
