WE CANNOT ALLOW ANY NEWSMEDIA BAIL-OUT. Once the government has direct influence over the media and can hire and fire it’s bosses and give papers to the unions, it is all over.

While most conservatives in cities and sububan areas have access to high speed internet, a vast number of conservative or moderate folks in the midwest and rural areas only have dial up available and are not able to access online publications that give an alternative to the government line.

A lot of folk talk about "separation of church and state". The idea that the federal government would give $1B to the Baptists is ridiculous, it just wouldn't happen -- the First Amendment would come into play.

Of course, if the NYT needs money to stay afloat, the federal government stands by, ready to help!

Disgusting.
