Sykes dropped her sitcom impishness and was all-Wanda, all the time. In the line that drew gasps from the posh crowd, she attacked Rush Limbaugh for saying he hoped the President's policies would fail. "That's treason," she said. "That's not saying anything different from what Osama bin Laden is saying... I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight." Yow. "Too much?" she asked rhetorically.

She was just appealing to the intelligence and mindset of her audience.
As for me, I have never heard of this 'comedy star' before and I will go out of my way to not hear her again. Vile, vile, and VILE!
The Ghetto White House saga continues.
See, I find these people need to shout from the rooftops so others can hear them spew bile and really understand their excruciatingly idiotic, vile hatred. It speaks volumes of their true character. I would like more people to hear them and then chose not to listen, like you.
And we have yet to see the soon-emerging clip of the WH in ‘MTVs Cribs’......I can imagine what that’s going to be like.
The open and obvious vitriol and hatred of the left for the right is confirmation that the polarization of this nation is too entrenched now for any kind of reconciliation, and some kind of cataclysmic showdown is inevitable. We are sitting atop a tinderbox and it’s just a matter of time before a spark is struck to ignite it. God help us.
Jeez... I thought the never funny Wanda Sykes was dead.... go figure...
This was always a rather tasteless affair. Now it has reached a new low where the president’s enemies are roasted. Thus, in its own way it differs little from the daily press briefing.
Sykes was married to David Hall from 1991 to 1998.[10] In October 2008 in California she married her female partner, whom she met in 2006, and publicly came out in November at a same-sex marriage rally regarding Proposition 8 in Las Vegas that she is a lesbian and had just married.[3] She expressed her excitement over the presidential election of Barack Obama, and feeling "crushed" after the passage of Proposition 8, forbidding marriages of same-sex couples in California.[11][3] She has continued to be active in same-sex marriage issues hosting events and emceeing fundraisers.
An AA Lesbian. She gets a double pass.
I thought I heard some boos also. Judging by the mixed response I think the audience was put in a bit of an awkward position of shock and disbelief about some of these jokes or attacks depending on how you want to say it.
You hit the nail on the head. Every opportunity to poke fun at the Prez is now used to crucify his political opponents.

Take into consideration the mentality and socialization of the source.
Is that her hair or is she wearing a Brillo pad?
To suggest that President Bush left everything in the White House broken. That the White House was a fixer upper when O got there.
She sure had the wrong ex Pres on that one.
Gee, Wanda, I thought the event was about Obama? Your inability to be a comic just went south. Your inability to have a sense of humor and laugh at yourself just went out the door.
In other words, you just ain’t funny.
If you don’t hear her, you may miss her Palin joke - “Someone should tell her pulling out doesn’t count as abstinence”. Said knowing full well Todd Palin was in the audience.
She was black trash before she was a lesbian.
She’s a typical black person.
