As far as I'm concerned, FreeRepublic's format is THE BEST for this sort of thing. If FR ever adopts the cluttered, ad-ridden crap formats of these other sites, I'll be reading it a lot less.

I LOVE the speed of fr....it is fast... I too can read it on hand held, and no annoying popup ads, and last but not least..NO time consuming, boggling 3rd party junk downloading... tracking banners/cookies.

I often read FreeRepublic using Lynx, a text only browser, and it works fine. I suppose we could always bash those fancy sites because they are not as
Section 508 accessible.
