Two Chicago judges and three others with connections to the city have been pointed out as possible replacements for U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter, who is retiring at the end of the current court term next month.
Ruben Castillo, a judge for the U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois who presides over a courtroom in the Dirksen Federal Building, has been named as a possible nominee. So has Diane Wood, a justice on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll appoint a moderate and mainstream American jurist who places American law before politics and ideology...
I highly doubt that the MSM is going to scream bloody murder or bloody fascist when Obama nominates judges who think like him. They’ll consider it the President’s prerogative to do so. They only think their input should be considered (and be highly influential) when the President is a Republican.
I wonder how Americans can be so blind to MSM liberal partisanship when it is so blatant.
Roland Burris could probably squeeze one more line onto his little shrine to himself.
One thing we can be sure of, whoever he chooses will be no friend of the unalienable rights that the Constitutional Convention delegates thought their creation would protect. The door to authoritarian doctrine is now marked IN, and the door to the concept of unalienable rights is now marked OUT in this present Obama era.
