I am not of the opinion that the majority of the current crop of republicrats has enough spine to mount more than token resistance. Its up to them to prove me wrong.

Bingo. The vanguard for change has to come from outside the beltway. There is a small remnant of conservatives, but people like Coburn, DeMint and Boehner need outside help. In 1994 it was Contract with America. I think the theme for 2010 needs to be Fire ‘em All.

Is Morris moving right or is the rest of his old gang moving left too fast for him to catch them?

If the GOP is seen as a moderate force, a party just looking to split the difference, voters will cynically conclude that there is no distinction between the parties.

Cynically conclude there is no distinction between the parties??? Look, Dick ... may I call you Dick? ... there may well be some distinction between the parties ... the fundamental issue is that whatever differences there are, they are not sufficient to alter in any meaningful way the path that Democrats would have this country travel.

The scope, scale, and trajectory of Leviathan government is not altered by either party ... every year it costs more, taxes more, regulates more, grows on its own failures, and makes us less free as a people and as individuals. In that regard, there is NO distinction.

If you look at the Republican values we have never had to sell our message. Most Americans agree that a smaller govt. local laws and limited power at the federal level is the best way to go. From abortion to welfare our message did not need to be sold.
On the other hand Liberals have always been on the wrong side of every issue.
Why then have they been more successful? Well besides having no scruples it has been because they are the antithesis of independent. They want someone to tell them what to say how to vote what to think and conservatives get down right testy when you try that on them.

We need to have a better PR and get our message out - over and over and over. Clearly without malice if the old adage of tell a lie often enough and people will believe it.
Tell the truth often enough unapologetically without all the PC crap we allow them to put us through and stand up and behind everyone that does.
