Obama White House Urges Tax-Funded Abortion-on-Demand in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 8, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - President Obama's budget recommendations unveiled yesterday are being criticized by the National Right to Life Committee for recommending the re-introduction of taxpayer-funded abortion in Washington, D.C.

The White House submission urges the House and Senate to repeal a law known as the Dornan Amendment that prevents tax-funded abortion, except for cases of rape, incest, or threat to the mother's life, in the District of Columbia for several years.

Because Congress holds legislative authority over the District of Columbia, the district's budget must be appropriated by Congress through an annual appropriations bill. The White House called for the ban to be replaced with a requirement that would apply only to funds specifically contributed for federal program purposes.

"If Congress goes along with the Obama proposal, the predictable result will be tax funding of several thousand elective abortions annually, including roughly 1,000 abortions annually that would not otherwise occur," said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC).

Though for me, they were somewhat lonely times on FR. Even my closer friends seemed to keep me at arm’s length wondering if my head really was screwed on more than a little cockeyed.

I knew this day would come . . . when a more or less critical mass of FREEPERS would FINALLY be awake to the evils of demonized globalism a la Biblical prophecy etc.

And I knew then, that when that day came . . . it would mean that Armageddon was much, much, MUCH closer.

And that events were racing along toward horrors unthinkable.

I’d rather be right than wrong . . . as a person.

Yet, on all this, my comfort zone would have been more comfortable with me being wrong.

God’s plan for judgement for America.

I don't believe that at all. Man and his sinful ways is causing all of this, not God. God ONLY wants the best for us.

Decisions have consequences. We reap what we sow. We are now reaping the consequences of all the bad rules/law, decisions made AS A NATION. God/prayer taken out of school, abortion approval, buying on credit, PC/absence of truth, ruling from the bench, ignoring laws in place for our benefit. homosexuality coddled, mixed marriages etc., etc., etc.

We've compromised our values because of weakness and to get along, closed our eyes towards evil. We now have a leader who isn't eligible, laws were in place that have been ignored - he was elected because of race and not qualifications - things done all for the wrong raasons. Decisions being made now that are not in the interest of the USA. A Godly conservative woman and her family is ripped to shreds unmercifully. God always provides and evil always attacks it w/venom. It's up to those who hate evil to take charge but too many have become lukewarm.

When the Restrainer, the Holy Spirit, is taken out of this world - the Church (goodness/light)- tribulation (darkness)enters - the worst time in all of creation.

Bottom line - Evil has/is taking this great nation down and not God. God loves us - evil hates good. God gave us dominion over this earth - the animals, the fowl in the air but evil puts that above humans - endangered species, etc. Killing babies is OK and they (evil) fight it tooth and nail - and importance is placed on "Mother Earth" - to 'protect' it.

Yes! God said even the most elect will be deceived. Deception is the only tool satan has. He doesn't have any power - only the power given him. Their pride will keep them from acknowledging they've been deceived. We must seek Him daily least we be deceived.

But then when all hell breaks loose.

Yes - and we are only getting a 'taste' of it now. Those who hate evil and know The Word - are very aware the time/season we are in - God's Word never fails. We will never understand the depth of His Goodness and His Love for us until we meet Him. We are truly blessed to know Him and not just know about Him. It's no wonder He tells us to pray for our enemies - and to spread The Good News about our salvation at The Cross - without Christ we are nothing. They have no idea what torment awaits them for eternity if they don't accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. And His peace, love, desire to know Him more and more and all His benefits here on earth.

Yes, we are. When these things start occurring, which can be an any moment, we should have His peace about them. Yes, WE are at fault, but He won’t let things go as they are for very long, then HE will commence judgement. His judgement is meant to cleanse us and unbelievers who have strayed from Him, and draw us close to Him when these things happen.

But what if the "little horn" that grows out of the compilation of the four kingdoms of Daniel 2 (iron and clay)is really a religio/politico culture and not a country? Then the Antichrist would be a product of the synthesis of Near Eastern/Western cultures commanding the respect of both cultures.

F.F. Bruce has an interesting interpretation of the "apostasy", "restrainer" and "man of sin" (Antichrist) in 2 Thessalonians. He says the apostasy is anarchy, a general breakdown of the rule of law. The restrainer is government that is holding back lawlessness and crushes the rebellion and in doing so, its mask is removed (the restrainer taken away) and the ruler is revealed to be the man of sin, the Antichrist.

The example he points to is Caligula attempting to erect a statue of himself in the temple in Jerusalem in 40 A.D. to solidify his claim to deity and the Roman senate refusing to go along with it.

It could very well be, but the point would still remain: The USA is not a small country (a "little horn") in comparison to any ten others, and Kenya lacks the necessary cultural connections.

I don't think so. The Adversary's angels are shown to be behind the world's governments (Dan. 10), so why would they be restraining the AC? In addition, there have been many periods of anarchy or unrestrained government fiat in history and the final AC has yet to show up.

I'm of the opinion that the Restrainer is Michael the Archangel, whom God placed as the "prince" of Israel to protect her when He withdrew His Sh'khinah from the Temple (in Ezk. 10). Michael first drives the Adversary from Heaven (Rev. 12) and then "stands" still during the Great Tribulation (Dan. 12) in preparation for the "hand off" to Israel's proper King.
