I sure hope I'm doing something more exciting than washing my beloved socks when I go!

(to tune of Michael Row the Boat ashore)
River Jordan is deep and wide...alleluia.
Bring your dirty SOCKS and a box of Tide...alleluia!

My father was a big fan of the Yankees and of Joe D. Despite that, he also had a soft spot for Dom, and once recited a poem to me that was popular at the time about him. I hadn’t thought about it since, but was able to find it on the Internet:

Who hits the ball and makes it go?

Dom-inic Di-Mag-gio.

Who runs the bases fast, not slow?

Dom-inic Di-Mag-gio.

Who can run and bat and throw?

Dom-inic Di-Mag-gio.

Who hits the ball both high and low?

Dom-inic Di-Mag-gio.

Who’s better than his brother Joe?

Dom-inic Di-Magg-gio.

"I was there and we were watching it together," said his son Dominic Paul DiMaggio Jr.
It doesn't get any better than this.
