Lets just cut them off and push them out to sea. They act like they are better that the rest of us anyway so lets see how well they handle things on their own!

...about to go bankrupt...

But, but, how can that be?

We have the wealthiest and largest force of public employees in the whole land. Retired or not.

Someone once said that a fish rots from the head first.

There's a lot of rotting fish in Sacramento. But then again the people in California have decided to become a one party state and this is the result of that. So California gets what they deserve. But you won't convince the average knuckle dragger of this. They will blame Bush or Schwarenegger (although Arnold does share some of the blame) or anyone but themselves for a Democratic Legislature.

Well the bills are coming due and the people in California are facing a day of reckoning. Will they be up to the task? I doubt it.

Statement: "California could be broke by July, state official warns "

Response: We are broke. In fact the State is bankrupt on all levels; politically, economically, morally, socially etc.

Comment: Here in California "The Divine Ones" approach to governing has been weighed in the balance and found wanting. California today the nation tomorrow. WHAT A MESS!!!!!!

Vote No! No! No! No! No! Yes! It’s our only hope for fiscal responsibility here in California.

Obama has just made the situation in CA more dire. He has threatened to withhold the bailout money if CA don't return the pay cut to SEIU contract workers by August. US Threatens to rescind Stimulus Money over Wage Cuts

O is threatening to pull stimulus money from CA if the SEIU don’t get their wages restored. Wages were cut in the last budget battle. Pretty easy to see who comes first doesn’t it...

The title of this article is like saying “Idi Amin could be dead by July”. He’s already dead - CA is already broke. And Idi is more likely to come back to life than CA’s economy.

I find that I don’t even care anymore. California needs to file for bankruptcy and let the chips fall where they need to. Our legislature is a joke. The deception, fraud, lies and incompetence coming from our politicians has now brought us to a point that some huge choices and decisions are going to have to be made. If I know of only one thing that will happen is that our politicians won’t respond. They won’t be able or willing to make any choices, let alone the right choices. Bankruptcy is the only option in my view. Our politicians can’t handle this situation.
They simply don’t have the guts or integrity to do so.

Place your bets: which goes broke first? The State of California or the L.A. Times.
