"We'll release its findings and release a photo," he said.
That was after Gibbs indicated Tuesday that the White House would not release any images.
"I've watched CNN," he said at the time, noting the considerable coverage from amateur footage. "I didn't notice a lack of archival material from that flight."
The flyover triggered panic among New Yorkers as well as the internal review by the Obama administration.
Officials last week sent an Air Force One backup plane to fly over lower Manhattan to capture the presidential plane with the Statue of Liberty in the background. The public was not notified in advance that there should be no cause for alarm.
Some New Yorkers were reminded of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, sparking chaos as employees evacuated office buildings and inundated emergency call centers to raise the alarm.
President Obama soon after denounced the photo-op, which cost $328,835, calling it "a mistake."

I want to see ALL my photos...and I want to see the manifest of who was on my airplane...

ANG photographer?
$328,835 for one photo? Now that’s a bargain!!
I’m willing to bet money that the released “photo” will end up being a professional photoshop...which they probably should have just done in the first place.
Doesn’t pass the smell test.
One photo?
An internal whitewash?
“...and release a photo....”
“A” photo?
Just ONE photo?
Is that all?
Is this called transparency?
What a joke.
Snapfish is always sending me coupons for $0.99 8x10’s.
How many mistakes can this a-hole make before our country goes down the toilet?????
...”I want to see the manifest of who was on my airplane...”...
That is the $64 question. I would be willing to wager friends here a pint or 2 of Guinness that there were large donors on that craft who were being rewarded for their campaign contributions. My guess is that this will be impossible to keep secret. Where is the National Enquirer?
What a douchebag. Hey, Gibbs, we don't need pictures of the plane FROM THE GROUND, we got enough of those. We want to see not only ALL the pictures taken on that little joyride, we want to know who besides the flight crew was onboard that VC-25 enjoying the view!

Maybe it is small potatoes for this regime, but for a third of a million dollars, I want ALL of them.
Numerous photos were taken of the episode by people all over Manhatten, with cameras, cell phones, etc.
What are the odds that they’ll just release one of those, to cover up what they were really up to?
This is one of them....
Michelle Malkin has filed a FOIA request for the photos, all correspondence prior to the “escapade” AND a manifest of EVERYONE on board.... we’ll see what they do with that :)
Unless those people were in the sky, it won’t fly...the article about this incident clearly stated the AF pilot took the picture.
