Senate Democrats Deny Specter Committee Seniority
WashPost ^ | 5/5/09 | Paul Kane

The Senate dealt a blow tonight to Sen. Arlen Specter's hold on seniority in several key committees, a week after the Pennsylvanian's party switch placed Democrats on the precipice of a 60-seat majority.

In a unanimous voice vote, the Senate approved a resolution that added Specter to the Democratic side of the dais on the five committees on which he serves, an expected move that gives Democrats larger margins on key panels such as Judiciary and Appropriations.

They didn’t really need him to get what they want passed....but it made great theater against the GOP. They couldn’t give a rip about Specter - anymore than Specter gave a rip about principles.

"And Obama promised he would campaign for him...if I were the Senator I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen, "

MAObama will get right on that right after he pays off Hillary's campaign debt. /sarc off

Poor little baby. Didn’t want to be in the minority any more after being called Mr. Chairman.

Now he’s at the end of the table as if it’s 1981 all over again.

So much for your thirty years of work.

I couldn’t be happier!

Hoisted on his own petard, and rightly so!
Specter isn't even electable as a Democrat now.

Well the RINO wing of the GOP (McCain, Jeb Bush & Poppy, probably Mitt, Miss Charlene Crist, Colin Bowel, Grahamnesty, Mel Scarface Martinez) will probably push RINO Tom Ridge.

NOTE:
The slimy scummy AP has puff pieces on Ridge and other RINOs while smearing Palin, Jindal, Rush, probably Twoomey and other conservatives.

Next step: Dems will mount a back-door primary challenge against Specter next year.

The funny thing is that Specter is very vindictive. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

The Democrats have double-crossed the double-crossing Specter. But what did he really expect?
There is no honor among thieves.

They are going to use him and then throw him away.
Here’s hoping he runs as an independent when he loses the Democrat primary next year.

Go Toomey! The next Senator from Pennsylvania.

I guess Arlen could help out at a Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic harvesting Embryonic Stem Cells after he loses the Primary.

He is a true believer in that Voodoo Science, just like Orin Hatch.

contradicts Specter's assertion last Tuesday ... He told reporters that he retained his seniority both in the overall chamber and in the committees on which he serves.

Well look here, he's a liar! The Democrats would be crazy to give a turncoat liar any sort of power.

Man, the DEMs have him by the balls. He can't accuse them of reneging, biting the hand he's chosen and all. Maybe he'll be the first of a string of resignations.

Yes, I said that last week here on FR. They don’t really have any use for him, and will throw him overboard for a stronger candidate. Obama may have said he would stump for Specter, but Obama is a liar.

So, he didn’t want to squander 29 years of senate experience in a republican primary? LOL! Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
