Palin’s contradictory move should make you rethink your view of Palin and the group as a whole. Palin’s is behaving differently from your expectations because she - and the other players - are not exactly who you think they are.

To me, there is one thing the whole group seems to have in common. They are more populist driven than ideological.
For me, that’s a problem as I see that the unpopularity of the GOP is largely due to the absence of any guiding principle.
