Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), the 2008 vice presidential nominee, will join a new Republican policy group aimed at reshaping and promoting the party brand.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.)announced Palins decision to join the National Council for a New America on Monday night. The group launched late last week and held its first town hall-style forum on Saturday in Virginia.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the 2008 presidential nominee, indicated during a conference call last week that his former running mate had been invited to join the policy panel. The group, which is made up of prominent Republican leaders, plans to hold town hall meetings across the country over the next few months.
Palins absence from the group had prompted questions about whether she was snubbing it or being left out.

"Its well known" I just pulled up 9,910 Google returns claiming Yamamoto referenced "a sleeping giant"--
Yet, in truth, it was an artifice of the 1970 film Tora! Tora! Tora!.
In similar fashion the hatchet-face on SNL had Sarah Palin saying all manner of mythic things--which Sarah Palin never said.
The Left is still dedicated to the destruction of Sarah Palin, arguably its greatest threat in 2008.
Their rabid jihad snaps at any straw man or invented scandal.

If she joins this leftist “republican” RINO group, I will not support her. Period.

Wait and watch, and if you can, pray.
It may be that she is destined to pull them rightward.

To: meyer
I guess that leaves you with your anti war, 9/11 Truther Third Party loons and Mark Sanford the mumbler and
member of a church which promotes same sex marriage
and their gay bishops.

Gov. Palin draws the hugh crowds and energizes them as some wish they could but never will. There's the double rub--she's dynamic; she's despised by lesser lights for it.
And yet hers is a simple case of not hiding one's light under a basket.
Whether it be the protagonist in Ayn Rand's Anthem or the little girl who pronounces the Emperor "naked", the spark is the thing--
We'll get the power back on in the shining city on the hill--we're Americans; we've got the power. . . .

"...if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican." Matthew 18. Sounds something like judging to me. How about you?

Spot On!
AS Michael Reagan said re convention night:
Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he’s a she.
In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my Dad’s indomitable spirit

Gotcha - I just don’t like internet warriors slinging arrows about, while sitting in the apparent safety of their own home. Seems to me that one ought to post as though they are talking with the big fellow on the adjacent barstool and temper their words accordingly.

She'll lose not an iota of credibility. If she can effect real change it is to our (conservatives) advantage.
If this group is hosting town hall mtgs across the country who better to be the spokesman, or spokeslady, representing core conservative tenets?
Far too many people at FR forget, or never realized why Reagan was so successful. Do you think he won two historic Presidential landslide victories with only the votes of conservatives? Of course not, yet he did while remaining true to his (conservative) ideals.
Sarah Palin needs our support not our critiquing her over any perceived lapse of good judgment..

Massive government spending on non defense areas is not conservative. Whethr being in this group is anti-conservative has yet to be demonstrated, since they do not seem to have a statement of principles.
