If these people are "guilty" of living up to their fiduciary responsibilities then what is the use of the current structure? This President thinks he can shame an investor into taking 29cents on a dollar? Why should they do that?

No no no! I distinctly remember the president calling them evil hedge fund managers who were “standing against” the worker class.

The deeper government gets into anything the worse the outcome will be.

It sounds to me like they were willing to take 60 cents on the dollar and others further on down the line in position agreed to take 30 cents on the dollar so these folks were demonized as being greedy and selfish for only taking a 40%
loss. The whole entire episode is astonishing to me.

It's more than shame if this site's reporting is correct...

Who the f(iretru)ck do you think you're dealing with? We'll have the IRS audit your fund. Every one of your employees. Your investors. Then we will have the Securities and Exchange Commission rip through your books looking for anything and everything and nothing we find to destroy you with.

It's more directly a threat.

As secured creditors they had the right to say we want every penny of our money before unsecured creditors get a dime.

"We see the White House Chief of Staff (whose primary finance and economics qualifications appear to be a Bachelor of the Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College- apparently appealing because of its strong ballet program- and a Master of the Arts in Speech and Communications) calling the plays over at Treasury for the last several months."

The Chicago Mob is now running the US government.

"While it has seemed fashionable in past to brand the leanings of the current administration towards the left-biased "socialism," or even "communism," neither of these definitions withstands simple scrutiny."

Ø is a devotee of Black Liberation Theology. See Dreams of my Father.

"[Fascism is] a form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion."

Coming to your neighborhood, soon. See Dreams of My Father.
