You didn’t get the word on here that Mitt Romney is ‘really’ a Conservative?

Seriously, the people on here that defend Romney have no idea about the man — he is not conservative but morphs into whatever he thinks can get him the nomination. He seems to have no core principles that are unwavering. Opportunist comes to mind.

Yep. Unfortunately, too many Conservatives seem to think that voting for a Republican is doing the right thing. Well, we say that it did not work this election cycle and it will NOT in the future. Romney is a political asshat (I know, but can’t think of a better word), another one of the GOP supposedly leaders that thinks that he can win over Conservatives via his ever-changing speeches. He is just another false leader that does not have any understanding of Conservatives...

I agree 100%. What puzzles me is this: very often when Romney opens his mouth, he says something that can be interpreted a number of ways; that that often requires subsequent "clarification" by a spokesperson; and that launches countless word-parsing arguments about what he really meant.

Personally, I think he does this deliberately so that he can't be pinned down. His supporters believe in his motivations and work tirelessly to explain what he really meant.

My question is this: don't we need a candidate who can communicate with knifeblade clarity? Even if Romney's motivations were pure, how can we support a candidate whose communication style is so consistently open to misinterpretation? IMO, that alone disqualifies him.
