In my post I said Bush bore 15 percent of the blame. However, in my analysis Bush gets points for proposing reform multiple times. With all that was going on, when the Democrats said it was racist for him to reform the GSEs, it would have taken political capital he didn’t have to get it through.

It is therefore both parties fault, so lets not let Dodd, Franks, Clinton, Cuomo. and Obama himself go unnamed in the discussion.

Yeah, but there are a bazillions threads and posts to that effect. We DON'T see the posts putting blame on Bush as well.

BTW, it's got to be more than 10 to 15 percent. There were plenty of Senators and Reps on the GOP side that voted for and espoused the expansion of the program during Bush's admin. I would say it's about 35 percent the GOP and the rest dems. Also, you have to weight Bush's score because of his position as president and the bully pulpit. Also, add to the fact that Bush waited till the whole thing was collapsing around him before he ever really called for reform.
