RINOs must have prevented me from seeing this thread before now. ;-)

Well said Jim. The go along to get along crowd really need to rethink their priorities.

From my point of view, the line in the sand should have been honored when Reagan did it in 1981. My unofficial motto today is, not one step further.

Folks, we either take a stand on principles, or we hand the Demcrats our party. Frankly, I think we already have, but it’s time to take it back.

This new effort to rebrand the party is nothing more than an effort to ensconce the old RINO players at the helm for another ten years. Not no, but hell no. This S has got to stop.

It’s time to recognize what we stand for, develop reasoned non-offensive ways to explain why, shed those who can’t get behind this, and go on a crusade.

I pay for all my own medical bills. I had a miscarriage, cost me $6,000 to lose my baby in a PUBLIC toilet at the Emergency room. They wouldn’t even give me an area of some privacy. All because they COULD.

I have catastrophic insurance (over $1 million). I believe in personal responsibility. I also have a health insurance savings account.

FORCING INSURANCE ON PEOPLE IS NOT THE ANSWER.

The state pays for much more health care for Illegal Immigrants who use the Emergency room as their primary care physician.

And a big part of the reason that medical bills are so high is because the hospitals know they can gouge the insurance companies and the state.

And what about those who are uninsureable? Or insurance costs are more than their annual medical bills. My mother pays her own way. She cannot get health insurance. My SIL CAN get insurance but it is over 2,0000 PER MONTH.

Before you complain about those of us who choose to pay our own way, complain about those who are taking advantage of the system! Complain about the illegals and welfare mothers.

Insurance is a game. The Insurers take your money, then play games to keep it. Limiters, and Non-coverages eliminate most of their costs. They are just another Ponzi scheme, sanctioned by those in the know...

- - - - - - - - -0 -
Exactly. I had health insurance at one point. Used it once, they found something they didn’t like (ear perforation), and RETROACTIVELY canceled me (BLUE CROSS and yes there was a class action suit).

Then I had a mark, so when I tried to get insurance again, I couldn’t except for a very high premium.

Theere is an expectation that services are paid for...

- - - - - - - - -
Most hospitals will negotiate costs. They know they charge too much. You can get a hospital bill knocked down quite a bit by making sure they don’t charge you for things you don’t use (they do that), you can negotiate payments and treatment options.

My mother called around for a better deal on some drugs she needed then had the hospital order them and charge her the lower price.

Who pays for your dialysis when your kidneys fail while waiting for your transplant.

Who says I would want dialysis and/or a transplant?

Can you come up with payent for your care or are you expecting charity from the hospitals and docs

- - - - - - - -
How did people pay for their medical expenses BEFORE there was health insurance?

Oh yeah, by themselves, through church charities, and the DOCTORS DIDN”T GOUGE PEOPLE as much.

Sarah Palin. Some told me that they did not vote for McCain/Palin because she was on the ticket. THAT shocked me.

Would a second reason be because she is a woman ???

- - - - - - - -
Possibly. But it was more that they didn’t trust those “who took the easy way out”, i.e those who believe in Salvation by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

I have a “catastrophic” health policy, which begins to pick up the tab over $100k. It’s pretty cheap. Everything else is out-of-pocket. It’s cheaper than those 80/20’s.

- - - - - - - -
Catastrophic is the way to go. I spend less on my health care every year than I would by paying for health insurance premiums.

I would like to see Doctors have to barter for their services. Might knock them down off their pedestal a little.

When I was looking for a doctor, I called my church to ask if they had any referrals. They mentioned that there was a GP in the congregation and gave me the info.

I decided to find a doctor who BELIEVED IN GOD, rather than thought he was one.

It always amuses me that mormons claim the right to proselytize FOR, and condemn the right to proselytize AGAINST. - - - - - - - It amuses me as well, and then they claim that opposition is "proof" the LDS church is the only true church. I have thought about following the LDS missionaries from door to door and after they leave a house then going up and giving the house residents some truth about the LDS.

“The other problem with the Mythheads is that they WON’T SHUT UP”

Seems, at least on this thread, that you and a couple of others “WON’T SHUT UP” and “refuse to let it go”. Perhaps you should discuss this fixation, and hostility, with your therapist.

How many Romney haters here have even read Ayn Rand?

If I behaved as rudely as some of the anti-Romney folks have here I would never change a single heart or mind

- - - - - - -
Um...we are the ones consistently called “bigots”, “anti-mormons”, “liars”, even on one of these threads “socialist DU infiltrators”.

I have read Ayn Rand. Agree with some things, hate her atheism.

We allow all men the right to worship who, what..etc and we do the same.

Then why do your missionaries go after people who are ALREADY Christians (at least nominally) in a attempt to convert them to Mormonism?

Hey troll, maybe you should go back and read some of the stuff that Jim Robinson has posted about Myth the last few days.

Myth is a LIBERAL RINO, FReepers have ALWAYS attacked liberal RINOs. This thread is NOTHING compared to the way we attacked Rooty and the Rooty Rooters a couple years back.

...fundamental issues Conservatives favor...

I think that depends which group's fundamental conservative issues. For some here fundamental conservative issues means being anti-abortion, where as for others it has to do with the size and scope of the Federal Government. While Bush upheld the pro-life agenda he was horrible when it came to fiscal responsibility and limited government.
