Gay marriage legalization in several states and the public's growing acceptance of same-sex unions have Democrats sensing political opportunity and some Republicans re-evaluating their party's hard-line opposition to an issue that long has rallied its base.
In recent weeks, Vermont and Iowa have legalized same-sex marriage, while New York, Maine and New Hampshire have taken steps in that direction. Polls show younger Americans are far are more tolerant on the issue than are older generations. For now at least, the public is much more focused on the troubled economy and two wars than on social issues.
In addition, over the past decade, public acceptance of gay marriage has changed dramatically.

Really doesn't have anything to do with that. The gays made a conscious decision that they needed to change the minds of people, and it was easier to do that if they got them young. So, lots of homosexuals are now teaching in elementary schools, and all the way up the line. And, it is working.
Also, the general "porning" of our culture simply reinforces what they learn in school.
The culture is dying.

You're right. That is why the left never wants this stuff to be voted on by the people, but to be decided on by judges, trained at left-leaning colleges.
This is how the left does business. They pick an issue, and then hammer away. They don’t give a crap about polls, or even elections that show the overwhelming majority of Americans disagree with them. They just keep hammering away, get a couple of radical judges on your side, get the MSM to play it up as a civil rights struggle, intimidate anyone who dares speak up, and eventually people just accept it as inevitable.
This has been the tried and true leftist tactic that has given us everything from Social Security to Gay Marriage.
The only way to reverse this creeping disease is to adopt the same tactics, unfortunately, those on the right can’t bring themselves to use those same tactics.

Well, there’s also the failings of their parents, churches, and frankly, the younger generation, themselves.
The Republicans should start a clandestine group that pushes for polygamy and bestialty with the intent of causing a backlash that stops polygamy, bestiality AND gay marriage all in their tracks.

What the fight over prop 8 showed that when the public is engaged and the we do not stand down and expose people to what is at stake the support for gay marriage and sexual activism is stopped. It was exactly the increase of support for prop 8 by young people who were put off by Gavin Newsom’s “Whether you like it or not” Speech that made all the difference. I believe that there are a majority of people who when given a choice on sexual activism simply want them to get a room and go away.

I think that people are so tired of hearing about it and they think that the Dems are eventually shove this policy down our throat anyway, that they are willing to accept it and get it over with.

I just tried to find a list of states that have defined
marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman by popular vote and couldn’t (using two very popular search engines).
I know there is a bunch including MO and CA, anyone have
a number or list?
For most moderate Americans, they don’t care if two adults want to be gay, they do get uncomfortable when gays show up at school and attempt to recruit their young children into the life style. The GOP/conservative should emphasize the increased chances for gay recruiting of their school age children if government gives more and more privelages to the gay agenda.
