I don’t see anyone connecting like Gingrich’s Contract with America these days. And that’s really a shame considering what the House and Senate have to deal with.
It’s unimaginable that we don’t have leaders with the gonads to take on the left. Never has there been more fertile ground.
Sure our reps are responsible for their own districts, but I’m not confident the Republican leadership will truly help the Conservatives. If you’re a Conservative these days, you’re essentially on your own. And I mean, cut loose, jettisoned into the stratosphere, and space walking without a space suit.

I included the link, because I feel careful study will convince even stalwart “conservatives” about the predicament they are in.
I live in Dana Rohrbacher’s district, where he get re-elected with ease. BUT the margin is slipping.
I think the slipping margin is evidence that the GOP is losing ground, because it is seen as backward looking, is seen as anti-immigrant, is seen as anti minority, is seen as anti-gay, is seen as pushing religion into the public arena, and so forth.
Notice I said “is seen as” because I think the opponents have successfully defined conservatism with several negatives, which are hard to overcome.
Combine that with the age ethnic demographics, and it will be very hard to avoid the predictions of Carville.
So give Gingrich credit for stepping up to the plate. The Tea Party activity is a good start.
The recent confab with Jeb Bush, Romney, Canter etc. is good too, because it keeps these faces in the news.
This website has become almost useless, because of the anti-McCain echo chamber rants.
There is about 1 percent substantive discussion, and it is hardly worth the time to sort through to find it.
