FCC response to my email--encouraging!
You are receiving this email in response to your inquiry to the FCC.
Dear Consumer:
Thank you for contacting the Federal Communications Commission to share your concerns about inappropriate program material. Its against federal law to air obscene programming at any time. It is also against federal law to air indecent or profane programming during certain hours. The Commission is charged with enforcing the law that governs these types of broadcasts.
Your views and concerns about program material are important to us. The Commission will review what you have submitted carefully to determine whether it contains sufficient information to suggest that there has been a violation of the obscenity, indecency or profanity laws. If it appears that a violation may have occurred, the Enforcement Bureau will start an investigation, which may include a letter of inquiry to the broadcast station. Further information about the complaint process is available on the Commissions web site at http://www.fcc.gov/eb/oip/process.html, and in our consumer fact sheet entitled "Obscene, Profane and Indecent Broadcast," which we have attached for your convenience.
Again, thank you for contacting us about this important issue.
Dear Consumer:
Sorry, but that looks like a form letter to me.
You’re easily pleased. That’s a form letter kissoff.
Yeah, they’re putting you off. They won’t do anything.
what was it that you complained about?
Was there a suggestion towards the end about holding your breath?
"Send this guy the bedbug letter"
etc, etc...
I wonder how much they pay that gubmint drone to copy and paste the generic reply before the complaint is flushed down the memory hole.
Since CNN and MSNBC are not broadcast networks, they do not fall under the jurisdiction of the FCC.
Obscenity and indecency?
Dang, I miss all the good stuff.
Did they show a boob, ‘cause I missed it if they did.
So they didn't even bother to send the correct "we have no jurisdiction over cable" form letter.
It might be helpful if you posted your letter here.
They show lots of boobs. Unfortunately theirs are all the talking kind.
$0.
Its a computer.
If a conservative ever becomes president again I’d like to see them slam the MSM with a fairness doctrine.
If we stop Obama’s attempt to do this with talk radio, then it might not be worth pursuing, but if he succeeds and the censorship apparatus is still in place after he leaves, then it needs to be shoved right back into their face.
In other words, “P!ss off”
Dear Sir: Sorry you died from your government doctor's medical misadventure.
That this Freeper took the time to complain is at least praiseworthy - no matter the impact or response here. At least a 'form letter' had to be e-mailed . .someone was had to take care of it; and that is better than nothing at all. . It is the effort here that counts; and whoever heard it; a 'cage rattled' somewhere.
