Top Repubicans [sic] [RINOs] Launch Effort to ‘Engage [hoodwink] American People’
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 04-30-09 | Susan Davis

A group of prominent Republicans today announced the launch of the National Council for a New America, a group of “congressional leaders gathering the expertise of national leaders and doers” to “engage with and empower the American people.”

Members of the group said they don’t view it as a “rebranding” effort, but any collective effort to re-engage the American people with the party will be viewed as such.

“This is not a quote re-branding effort, this is an effort to include as many Americans as possible” to come up with “concrete solutions for our country and our future,” Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain said on a conference call this morning.

“This is not a Contract with America, this is a conversation with America,” McCain said, in reference to the landmark document spear-headed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in 1994 that helped sweep the GOP in to power that year. McCain credited House Minority Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia as the “driving force” behind the group’s creation.

A group that includes Jeb, Cantor, and Pence should not be called “RINOs”.

This may be a blessing in disguise. This will weed out the wheat from the tares. A RINO cannot articulate true conservative ideas. Romney is NOT a conservative and he will use this platform to pander and bloviate. He and Juan McCain and others will try to convince us that the GOP needs to change their values and become more moderate. Their rhetoric will imply that conservatism and Reagan’s ideas are dead. That’s when you strike!

Have you noticed that the website, http://republicanwhip.house.gov/newsroom/2009/04/national-council-for-a-new-america-formed.html does not allow you to email anyone nor does it allow you to reply to the blog? All you can do is write a letter or call. Hmmm, I wonder why that is?

Jeb, he’s not a RINO, he’s a BUSH and his brother and father screwed his chances.

Some people aren’t happy unless they can call someone a RINO, I guess.

Not good. Reminds me of when they all take their phones off the hook when we call in mass up in DC! (eye roll)

If it has Pence though, it can’t be all bad.

I’m not happy that McCain, Boehner, and a handful of others are on that list. But Jeb, Cantor, Romney, Barbour, and Pence are solid leaders for our party’s future.

Did everyone do their research? (No, of course not.)
From the Washington Post:

“McCain said group leaders invited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, his running mate in 2008, and think she will participate.”
