The Department of Homeland Security said Thursday it has not told agents at U.S. airports and border checkpoints that they cannot wear masks to protect from exposure to swine flu.
"The Department of Homeland Security has not issued an order saying our employees cannot wear masks. The health of our employees is of utmost importance to us. And today we are issuing department-wide guidance to our workforce," DHS spokeswoman Sara Kuban told FOX News.
Kuban was responding to a claim made Thursday that The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Homeland Security issued a guideline banning masks because they look too intimidating.
Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Calif., told FOX News that it's absurd to say border agents and airport workers don't need protections.when President Obama and other agencies are suggesting Americans take precautions to protect themselves from others.
"For somebody sitting in D.C., who won't even allow their family to fly, and then to sit there and say, don’t put on the masks until you know someone is sick is absolutely absurd. And it shows that Washington doesn’t understand the procedures or the conditions along the border," Bilbray said. "Washington ought to wake up."

Think I’ll trust the border patrol on this one. What possible reason would they have for lying.
The PC Obama administration cannot allow itself to admit that this flu came from Mexico, because that would make them feel racist. So they have to try to create the perception that it started in the U.S. One way to do that is to allow people to come and go across the U.S. border willy nilly, especially illegal immigrants.
I like an administration that can go as fast in reverse as it can in drive.

Well the left always tells us that the earth is overpopulated. I guess this is just their way of trying to kill more of us off, to protect mother earth, don’t you know?

Anyway, my son is a Border Patrol Agent in AZ and he says he hasn’t received anything like that. Anyway, as he says, “Like anyone cares what headquarters says.”

I have an even better idea — Let’s require EVERY congressman/woman, adminstration member, press member, past administration member supporting open borders and amnesty to work the border now, without a mask.
They should also be REQUIRED to go to Mexico now and show their support for this.
I think they should be drug tested and required to show a birth certificate. LOL
Now just a cottin picken minute. Our Tsar of Homeland Security, Napolititano, has told us there is nothing illegal about illegal aliens.
How dare you stray from the “official” government position. Your benificent government gives you a choice of banishment to the gulag impertuity or undergo chemical reeducation at one of our state of the art mental hospitals.

I agree. Look at the potential harm they can/have caused, including death and misery. It makes sense they should be drug tested, and for sure provide a birth certificate.
