Republicans, including Romney, launch new [RINO] group

Reeling congressional Republicans today launched a new effort days after their latest setback -- the defection of Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, putting Democrats within reach of potentially being able to push legislation through the Senate without a single Republican vote.

House GOP Whip Eric Cantor announced that the National Council for a New America will hold its first event on Saturday with former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who ran last year and could run again in 2012; Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, another possible 2012 contender; former Governor Jeb Bush, the former president's brother; and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, a former national GOP chairman.

The council appears a way to rebut Democratic portrayals of the GOP as the "party of no" by pulling together a cohesive policy strategy by the opposition.

Sadly, Bobby JIndal is not a Constitutionally eligible citizen for the presidency ... unless the Constitutional eligibility requirements are now obsolete because of the current fraud-in-chief having been given a scotus pass on same.

Palin’s in on it, Cantor is . . . .

The organization getslabeled RINO at the outset of the thread and then everybody just assumes it’s a RINO organization, no questions asked. Talk about lemmingitis. Sheesh.

As each genuine conservative who’s part of it gets identified on this thread, people just shrug and say, ok, cross him off my list—he or she must actually also be a RINO.

Look folks, this is ridiculous. Why not suspend judgment at first, analyze who’s in and out of it and then decide what the new thing is really like?

But he is not a natural born citizen as defined by the founders, because neither of his parents were American citizens when he was born on US soil.

Already did. RINOs Romney and McCain are in it. Look to see Graham, Collins, Snowe joining next as senior members. No thanks. If this is the face of the new improved GOP, the G.O.P. can R.I.P.

Jindal is as eligible for the presidency as you or me. He was born in the U.S. of parents who were residing here legally.

Barbour I like, but if the party is looking to the likes of McCain, (and still another Bush), to lead the development of a new agenda, then the party is clearly going in the wrong direction.

Maybe it IS time for the GOP to go the way of the whigs.

Noob? Sorry dude, check my history. Is that really the best you can do?

I don’t believe what the MSM says about anything. I believe my own eyes. Sarah is not surrounded by helpful people. Her self-centered daughter and former future son-in-law are only a small problem. A bigger problem may be her advisors.

Her biggest political mistake was agreeing to run with the loser McCain, rather than just giving a speech at the convention and waiting until 2012 (the Obama strategy). I’m sure she agreed to join the ticket out of a sense of duty to prevent the country from going in the tank under no matter which idiot won, McCain or Obama. For that, I commend her. She tried her best, harder than anyone else in the McCain camp. Her going “rogue” was the best thing for the campaign and the party, and it almost worked.

Since the election, she has been entangled in confusion. There have been double bookings, withdraws from appearances, etc. She needs to get it together. She is exactly what America needs, which is why I criticize. I have Palin t-shirts, buttons and coffee mugs, something I have never done for a politician.

I sense a big sensitivity problem on FR should anyone dare to criticize Sarah. And most disappointing is the tendency to label anyone who does as a “noob”. Why not try an intellectual argument?

>>>To me abortion is states rights issue...<<<

Perhaps, I suppose a state could legalize murder if it wanted to.

However, Romney’s past, emphatic support of a “woman’s right to choose” is not a “states rights issue”. Roe v. Wade robbed the states of the authority to pass laws against fetus killing, and invented a “constitutional right” to abortion.

Honestly, I think any voter, whehter pro-life, or pro-abortion, anti-illegal or pro-amnesty, pro-gun or anti-gun, should be disgusted by Romney. His record shows he take any position, on any issue, if he thinks it will help get him elected.
