The Facts on Fascism

Yes, it is indeed similar to fascism.

Since my April 2 column that compared Barack Obama's economic policies (and others) to those of Italy's Benito Mussolini, I have been denounced on the pages of the Economist, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Toronto Star, and the New York Times (less strongly denounced there than in the others, oddly enough), and by Chris Matthews (and guests Tony Blankley and Larry Sabato) on Hardball, and also had the idea made fun of by CNN morning hosts while they played a rather tame and sober interview they had done with me on the subject.

Never mind that in the New York Times on April 7 , David Leonhardt went farther, comparing the policies to the economics of Hitler in the course of saying that was a good thing because Hitler's economics worked

Surprised to hear that Blankley piled on.

Can anyone remember when liberals and leftists piled on a liberal or leftist for denouncing Bush or any Republican or conservative for that matter?

Why do so many conservatives seem almost eager to eat their own?

During the Bush years the most brave and patriotic thing a person could do is to call Bush a fascist, now people who do the same thing are mocked. It is comically how liberals project who they really are others. Liberals are nothing by Liars and Hypocrites.

There is a reason this Duce is allied with the labor unions instead of opposing them as the original Duce did. This one is not a Nationalist thug. His fascism is more in the Russian mold.

The Marxist/Socialist cannot implement his “re-distribute the wealth” ideology without using force. That’s fascism.

Fascism as a modern political religion:

Ought World, Political Religions, and the Bridge to Nowhere

“....I came across a great quote that summarizes how the leftist body snatchers have, like a cancer, insinuated themselves into virtually every aspect of society. It’s very much like guerilla warfare, where you can’t just drop a bomb on the enemy without causing a lot of collateral damage. It’s the same with the left. You can’t just bulldoze our major universities, media outlets, and other institutions. If you metaphorically blow up the Princeton Middle East Studies Department, you might hurt Bernard Lewis.

Here’s the quote. It’s from a book entitled The Third Reich: A New History, http://www.amazon.com/Third-Reich-New-History/dp/080909326X which analyzes fascism as a modern political religion. It has to do with the gradual moral transformation that fascists attempted to bring about, which he compares to rebuilding a railway bridge:

“Engineers could not simply demolish an existing structure, because of the impact on rail traffic. Instead, they slowly renewed each bolt, girder and rail, work which hardly caused passengers to glance up from their newspapers. However, one day, they would realize that the old bridge had gone and a gleaming new structure stood in its stead.”

In America, this construction project has advanced so far, that the Orwellian engineers responsible for bringing it about accuse those of us who notice the new bridge of being “radicals” or extremists. For example ... [snip]

Fascism and Socialism are cousins, not twins. Both came from Europe and both emphasize a strong, centralized government. There are key differences between the two worth mentioning:

1)Socialism emphasizes internationalism, Fascism emphasizes nationalism.

2) Socialism promotes secularism and atheism, Fascism usually (Nazi Gemany excepted) seeks the support of the Church.

3) Socialists usually gut military spending and increase spending in other areas. Fascists are strong supporters of the military.

4) Socialists support government ownership of the means of production. Fascists tolerate private ownership so long as corporations support state objectives.

5) Socialists support social engineering, Fascists tend to be socially conservative and strong supporters of law and order.

Archetype Fascists include Francisco Franco, Agusto Pinochet, Vichy France, Mussolini, Portugal under Salazar.

Fascism should be thought of has a more socially conservative, nationalistic, corporatist version of socialism.

IMHO, given BHO’s associations with CPUSA member Frank Marshall Davis, Weather Underground terrorist leader Bill Ayers, as well as his background as a community agitator and disciple of Saul Alinsky, I think BHO is much more of a Marxist and a garden variety Socialist than he is a Fascist.

I did have a test today. That wasn’t bull——. It’s on European socialism. I mean, really, what’s the point? I’m not European, I don’t plan on being European, so who gives a crap if they’re socialist? They could be fascist anarchists - that still wouldn’t change the fact that I don’t own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism - he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: “I don’t believe in Beatles - I just believe in me”. A good point there. Of course, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus - I’d still have to bum rides off of people.

Well, I think you should bone up on your study of European style socialism because it’s coming our way fast and much of it already here.

Took a while for your reply to come thru.

Anyway, you got some very good reads there. And as your bit about the bridge reads is exactly what is happening/happened.

Hitler in one of his speeches boasted about how he destroyed all other parties within Germany. It took just about 10 short years to do it and he used a economic disaster to help. I believe that this administration is on its way..all it needs is a disaster to do what they intend on doing.

The end result? WW3.
