When I responded to dr_who's comment:...

dr_who had the class to acknowledge it wasn't agitprop and apologize.

If you're aligning yourself with cnn, or even touting them as an acceptable information source (other than to determine what the enemy is trying to do), then I guess you're part of the target.

WOW. Just keep diggin, why don't ya? I'm not aligning myself with CNN. Read the darn post -- it was a quote from a GOP announcement, a list of the names involved (expressly editing out any of the negative descriptors from CNN), reporting that they were having a meeting. I assumed most FReepers have the basic level of intelligence to be able to tolerate any remaining tilt in their language and to appropriately interpret it.

I don't intend to insult you specifically, but if you take umbrage, it is your choice.

I'd hate to see what you write when you insult people intentionally, cuz you're doin' a darn good job... and they keep coming.

When someone posts something and leaves no comments, the normal conclusion is that one is supportive, or at minimum, ambivalent regarding the posted position/perspective represented. Doing so leaves one open to being painted with negative comments regarding the post.

Normal conclusion? That's not normal at all, IMO. I was not the author, nor the source, and by posting it I meant only to inform FReepers of a meeting this weekend and the stated (quoted) goals of such event. That you think that justifies hurling insults at me says a lot about you.

"had the class to acknowledge it wasn't agitprop

So I have no class because I didn't agree with you regarding the characterization of the report as agitprop and apologize.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree and I'll suffer being a classless person, by your definition.

" ... it was a quote from a GOP announcement, ..."

From the original post:

"CNN has learned that the new initiative, called the National Council for a New America, will be announced Thursday. It will involve an outreach by an interesting mix of GOP officials... [John McCain and Jeb Bush]. In addition to Sen. McCain and Gov. Bush, GOP sources familiar with the plans tell CNN others involved in the new group's "National Panel Of Experts" will include: [Barbour, Jindal and Romney] It will report to GOP congressional leaders, and among those signing the announcement that will be made public Thursday are:...[Boehner, Cantor, Pence, McConnell, Kyl, Thune, and Alexander] "However, this is not a Republican-only forum," reads the letter announcing the new effort, a copy of which was obtained by CNN from Republican sources involved in the effort. ...

What I've bolded above, from the original post, are examples of what indicates to me that it is not republican party (GOP/RNC) announcement. The report appears to be sourced from the mccain crowd, and would be promulgated by the msm for the very purpose I assert.

"... That you think that justifies hurling insults at me says a lot about you."

As I said earlier, I mean you no insult directly. I have tried to avoid being insulting, other than to the msm and 'the moderate gop sources' alluded to. If you think I owe you an apology for a disagreement over the intent of the cnn piece, or because I hold the source of your post in contempt, then I suggest you consider how your last statement about me, might apply to you.

And what happened to Sarah Palin???? Is the GOP leadership just determined to ignore her?

Sarah is a boat rocker. The last thing the crooks who run the GOP want is someone like her.

These idiots already rebranded the party as losers.

We need to rebrand their rebrand.

“Problem is Palin’s future is completely out of their hands since she has the grassroots folks firmly behind her, as demonstrated at the overflow sell-out Evansville speech.”

Good analysis.

The party of NO sounds great to me.
No to national bankruptcy.
No to socialism.
No to communism.
No to fascism.
No to judges who legislate from the bench.
Yes to individual liberty.
Yes to the rule of law under the constitution.
Yes to limited government.
OK, time to rebrand again!

I was a “Beaver”, but Father Knows Best was the standard in my home as a kid.

I’d venture a guess that you and I will be witness to the process feeding America’s slippage from superpower to eventual 3RD world status. Estimates peg it at 2050, so we might be dead and buried by then. Although the handwriting is on the wall, its not a foregone conclusion, yet.

It would take a back to basics revolution based on Constitutional conservatism and with a few great leaders charting the course. Right now, those leaders might still be in the crib.

I concur, McCain being involved assures us the same old liberal garage will be peddled.

As for me and the Republicans, SHOW ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT! I have heard the same “conservative talk” in campaign after campaign since 1988, but have seen little action and a lot of liberal bs practiced.

Sorry RNC, right now you boys have the credibility of a sleazy disbarred trial lawyer working as a used car salesman in a third rate used car lot.

“I was commenting on Palin being compared to Thatcher, which is laughable.”

Considering that Thatcher had no real world experience before becoming a politician I’d say Sarah actually has Thatcher beat in her current point in her career.

Trying to say we must compare the final result of Thatcher to the midcourse play of Sarah is just plain dumb.

Thatcher started her career as a strong conservative against all odds a woman could make it, and considering Sarah is in the same situation, I’d say they are comparable.

John O'Sullivan, Thatcher friend and former advisor and Editor of the National Review, agrees with you:

"I know Maggie Thatcher. The two women have a lot in common."

Wha’ happ’n to the New Majority, the Main Streeters, the ‘It’s My Party (I’ll cry if I want to) crew’ .. ?

There ain’t a brand big enuf to re-brand this bunch of power-hungry, liebral-leaning idiots.

Why is Haley hitched to this? Sad.. I do try and give credit where it is due,, but the party leadership is still ‘SoS’

The Rockefeller wing and the right-wingers wing in the GoP don’t mix, when will that lesson be learned?

Do they really want to see Obama re-elected?

No, well then they should just go home, play golf , go fishing , but still feel free to support conservative candidates with their donations.. but their time is gone.
