Probably more will be closed after tomorrow since Thursday is the last day of TAKS testings.
Will keep an eye on this page (thanks bgill).
My Goddaughter is in Sweetwater.
Fort Worth ISD? The whole district?
Thanks. It is starting to look like we are going to need prayers as well.
Obama should be impeached for not closing the damn borders. I am getting scared and mad as hell.
Yes, the WHOLE district.
Dallas ISD will soon follow suit. I saw on the news tonight that they have 3 confirmed cases of Swine Flu, to Ft. Worth’s 1.
If fear of lawsuits is what’s really driving this, they’ll close by tomorrow. Look for all of the surrounding counties to do the same before close of business on Friday.
As for me and mine, we’re a homeschooling family, out in the boonies north of Dallas, so we’re protected by our isolation and lack of contact with large groups.
Those schools that are closing are in areas saturated with Illegal Aliens.
But of course they would never even consider closing the border.
Yes, the whole district.
Am I the only one who thinks that this Swine flu is a lot about nothing, and it almost seems like some sort of generated panic and obedience test to close down everything. This all seems a bit over the top? I’m serious about this. I can’t be the only one who thinks this way.
Arlington ISD will be open but has cancelled field trips.
Miller High School in Corpus Christi is closed.
Interestingly, Corpus Christi is right along the probable route taken by that Mexican national toddler who died in Houston. Corpus would be a good midway point to stop for food, gas, or a potty break. I dunno, just saying.
On the other hand, I don't think it's a bad thing to close the schools. Kids are usually the ones who bring disease home to the rest of the family.
And since the state says they don’t have to make up the days Why wouldn’t a school close? Think about all the money they are gonna save in Bussing, food, eletricity, etc..
I would think that after taks is over we will see most of the ISD’s in Texas close.
