Obama Says He Wants US Electric "Plug-In" Car, But His Task Force Is Trying To Kill It!
Press Conference and quote Presidentiaal Task Force on Automobiles

In tonight's news conference, President Obama said he wanted US to produce an electric "plug-in" car. Actually, he said a "hybrid plug-in car" and that is a contradiction in terms, but lets go with what he probably wanted us to believe, (which is what the MSM does all the time....)
Obama says he wants GM to produce an electric car, but at the same time his Presidential Task Force on Automobiles says "GM has devoted significant resources to the Chevy Volt." and that "while the Chevy Volt holds promise, it will likely be too expensive to be commercially successful in the short-term," so they want GM to kill it.
Another Obama lie, and tens of thousands of American auto workers will have less of a future because of it.

How come Obama, who never even had a paper route, is qualified to tell GM how to run it's business.
GM's problem is the opressive union contracts, period.

Where is the electricity at to power these plug-ins? Those outlets in the wall don’t come from human-powered generators in the Matrix movies. Yet.

You know, I was in the grocery store one night last month and the power went out for no reason. It was pitch black. Then their generators came on and about twenty minutes later the power was restored.
I don’t trust this idea of all-electric vehicles. I want to be able to travel if I need to travel.

A “Plug In” car would effectively be a coal powered car.

Do all these electric car nuts realize that the electricity mostly comes from coal power plants? If they’d allow nuclear power to proliferate, then they’d be on better ground to act like electric cars are “clean”.

Obama will not let American Auto makers survive unless they make the cars the government mandates and built by union workers. When they don't make money, taxpayers will have to subsidize them from now till eternity.

Nah, he's gonna kill off coal fired plants. It will probably be wind powered or solar. In other words, it won't be powered at all.
They need to call it the NoVa. That's Spanish for "it doesn't go".

President Obama said he wanted US to produce an electric "plug-in" car. Of course he does. Then he and his Commie buddy, Algore, will make a killing off of their Cap'n Tax scam. We're all a bunch of gullible fools. Obammie can take that plug and shove it.

Idiots, who believed the propaganda movie: “Who Killed the Electric Car”, dumped all over GM for “killing” the electric car — even though it was much, much more expensive than the Volt to make, and had grossly inadequate batteries. They mostly voted for Obama. They knew nothing then, they know nothing now.

"Where is the electricity at to power these plug-ins? Those outlets in the wall dont come from human-powered generators in the Matrix movies. Yet." Thank you! I was about to mention the same thing! Where in the heck do these fools think the power comes from "plug-ins!" COAL, OIL, NATURAL GAS!

More Obama BS!
I've been following the development of the Chevy Volt almost since its announcement. There is great progress with its development. You can follow it @:
http://gm-volt.com/
Yes the first Chevy Volts will be expensive because the economics of scale are in play. Recall how expensive the first Computers or Flat Panel TVs were. There will be plenty of people who will be able to afford the first Volts. In fact it will be difficult to get a Volt for the first 2 or 3 years. They will sell out and there will be a waiting list. As time goes by other EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicles) will come into the market. Chrysler (if they can survive) will also introduce their EREVs in 2010 and they have at least 3 versions. The big issue is the battery as this has ALWAYS been the problem with electics. It has been know forever that the Electric Motor is far more efficient than the ICE.
Yes things are going to get exciting in this area. A lot of the people who bad mouthed the US auto industry are going to have to inhale crow. I can't wait! I'm going to grind it into those who I know who fit the bill.
The US auto industry has the best engineers in the world (although the Germans are excellent as well) and can compete if they can get a cost structure that allows them to.
The guy at GM who really made the development of the Volt possible has been fired. Outrageous. I hope Wagner runs for Congress after he has had a well deserved brake.
If Obama tries to take any credit for this then he will be an even bigger liar than I thought. He had NOTHING to do with this. Good luck GM and Chrysler!

HA! I’ll get a chuckle the first night everyone plugs in their car at the same time. Where will this unlimited electricity come from to charge these cars? Wind? Some kind of turbines in the ocean?
