U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said Wednesday closing the U.S.-Mexico border should be an option in combatting the H1N1, or swine flu strain that has hit Mexico City hard and shown up in Phoenix, San Diego and New York City.
His comments comes as the World Health Organization raised the threat level that the Mexican swine flu could be become a global flu pandemic.
McCain said U.S authorities are working hard to identify and contain the Mexican swine flu in the U.S. But the Arizona senator also said closing the border should be an option.

Are we going to expell all the infected people that are here in the US?
The swine flu is here and cannot be put back in the bottle.
It’s a little late now; day late and dollar short.
This is McCain's 2010 election equivalent of his 2008 Republican primary run "I got the message". None of means crap. Just Juan trying to hoodwink the voters again with a phony statement hinting he might actually favor some action considering Mexico and the border.
Exactly.

He's just talking about the "official" border-crossing locations. Screen door, submarine.
My thoughts exactly. Well, of course, I think of McQueeg as "Juan" instead of "Jonnie".
Too little, too late, Juan.
Miller time on O'Riley. Gotta go!
McLame said he understands the virus just wants to have a better life over on this side of the border.
Cart, horse, barn door....
No, it cannot be “put back in the bottle”, but why allow more people in that could be infected with the virus? It will assist in spreading it that much faster.
I know...but still....it’s ridiculous.
McCain says “I’ve been fighting pork for years. This swine flu just proves that I was right.”
Ping!
In other words he knows it isn’t going to happen so he can safely support it.
Oh come now, having 20,000 potentially infected Mexicans entering the U.S. daily at the 10 major entry points, won't make any difference.
And if ya believe that, you'll believe anything.
But Juan the swine virus is just following the old beaten path. If you’re going to grant amnesty to illegals like the swine that you are then don’t come out now and make statements regarding third world viruses.
We could always turn the bottle over and dump it out.
Closing the border crossings (Legal ones) fails to address the illegals, who will continue to come across in even greater numbers. Especially the sick ones for the free health care.
We should take some of the trillions zero wants to spend on welfare and build a really big wall.
