This is ominous. In a related note, Congressman Mike McIntyre is thinking of running, as well.
“And that is Burrs problem. Hes hiding from everybody.”
Why the H*LL isn’t he out and about more? This is pathetic.
Blue state Democrats get like 70% re-elects in polls, thanks to (like Schumer) being microphone hogs etc.
Burr has been Senator for 5 years. Copper has been AG for 7 years. Yet the majority of Tarheels don’t know either of them. Could transplants be the majority of the state?
One big reason for the losses of Gordon Smith, Norm Coleman, Liddy Dole, and Jim Talent were complaints about them being invisible senators. Whoever gave such stupid advice to GOP senators need to fired.
It’s be nice to grab McIntyre ‘s house seat.
But not if he beats Burr. The Senate is a disaster area. The rats could hold it for 10 years plus if they score a net gain next year.
Could McIntyre win a rat primary statewide being a social conservative? Could he beat AG Roy Cooper who is tough fight for Burr himself?
Burr is weak like Dole was. He needs to run a good race and we need to have a good year.
I think JohnnyZ has left the building.
I’ve been wondering about whatever happened to Johnny myself, since I haven’t seen him on the local board in a while. I figured it may have been politics fatigue, hope all is well with him.
Burr was/is very wishy/washy. I've never seen him take a stand, pound his fist on the podium and say “This is what I believe. This is what I am going to do.”
He strikes me as a finger in the air kinda’ guy.
Just my opinion of the guy.
BS. No he isn't.
He just spoke in Rocky Mount about the economy a few weeks ago (I saw this in person), in Tarboro the day before that, and at some other events recently.
2/17/09 - Burr speaks at anti-card check rally
4/21/09 - Burr talks to local scouts
Burr is in big trouble because of liberal demographic changes in NC. People there like federal programs, and they think Burr opposes them.
Still, the “king” of invisible senators has to be John Cornyn, and now he disperses the campaign funds for 2010.
Well the good news is there are 500 days until the election...
He needs to be having about 1,000 events like that from now to then.
“Could transplants be the majority of the state?”
Good question.
His state did lay a major egg. I wouldn’t blame him if the election burned him out.`
