The way I read it no one other than tax protesters was welcome. If I read wrong, I apologize. I have heard from folks who warned against "radicals and extremists", with pro 2nd amendment and pro lifers put into those categories. I am "touchy" about that.
I share the concerns about fiscal issues but my main issue is the 2nd amendment, as it has been for about 50 years now. If any effort ignores, or works counter to that, they won't get my support.

Well, if they’re “legit”, I’d like to know why the great people who organized the Houston Tea Party (to which almost 11,000 attended!) were not listed. They’ve done a great job at humbly keeping it a grass-roots level movement. They meet regularly to make sure that things are ready for the Fourth, but they seek NO glory.

I’m not due any apology but that wasn’t cripplecreek’s position that was what the article was saying. Perhaps you could reread the exchange between the two of you and see if I am on to something. Re-examine his post that you first responded to. Maybe it’s not all that important, I don’t know.

I don’t see any point in belaboring this, personally. Why do you? Maybe you aren’t exactly aware of everything that’s happening, you would understand better if you were. I really hope you aren’t just trying to stir things up, we have enough of that.

The National Leadership Team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition includes 25 of the more than 900 local organizers of the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Parties held across the country ... Looks like 25 government checks cleared.

I'm not belaboring it. I said all I needed to say in my first post to you. After that I have just been replying to you.
I read every word the both of you said and I understood everything both of you meant. You owe him an apology. Take that up and do something with it or forget it. I don't really care that much.

Tell everyone not to get their pants in an uproar, we knew nothing would come of it, and we didnt mean to frighten or offend any of our fellow tea party organizers. This was solely a press play to call his bluff.
You didn't know any such thing unless you can read minds. He could have just a easily taken your acceptance and used it to demean the tea party movement. There was no need to show he is disingenuous. That is common knowledge amongst tea party supporters and freepers. There was no need for a recorded statement as he has explained more than once his position on socialist health care. He could very well in the future change his mind and invite you to serve his purpose at the expense of those who support the tea parties. Grandstanding serves no purpose.

Those were his words, and we just responded to them. We knew he would never dare hold a public forum with us or with anyone conservative.
You knew nothing of the kind. There is nothing from preventing him changing his mind in the future and use it to derail the tea party movement. I noticed you did not state your plan of action if he has kept his word but wouldn't have mattered as he would have used the moment to intimidate and berate you just as he did with executives from some of the national financial institutions. You have opened the tea party movement to an unnecessary risk. Don't pat yourself on the back.

Thank you for the update. I do feel better now. I was very worried.
My best regards.

I do have to agree with your post #196.
It was/is dangerous and foolish. And worse, there is no plan “B.”
To: Doctor Raoul; navyvet
I organized the event that I attended!
Then they are just like you. You don't know that.
There is one difference that leaps to mind: Navy Vet isn't a member of a group titling itself the "The National Leadership Team" or "the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition".
The very titles suggest that they have somehow promoted themselves to speak for people who never heard of them and presenting themselves as followed by people who have never heard of them.
Personally, this makes me very anxious. Obama doesn't want to hear from them or to listen to them. He wants to give only the appearance of taking them seriously. He has already poisoned his own well: He told PP he'd sign FOCA his first day in office. He told Americans of Armenian background that he would be clear that the Turks committed genocide, and then he totally wussed out. He just snookered Orrin Hatch, telling him the he would not nominate a "radical" for the Supremes. But he IS a radical, and from where he stands a "Moderate" justice is still one who supports infanticide and treating the conversation as one treats a deep well, one looks down it and sees one's own face looking back.
This man thinks he has the authority to toss out contracts if they seem bad to him. He cares neither about commitment nor about truth. He thinks he can run our economy better than anybody else. He has no humility. This is the most perilous situation we've been in since FDR, if not since the founding of the republic.
