What is remarkable about the mainstream media coverage of the Air Force One flyover scandal in New York last week is how incurious they remain. NewsBusters managing editor, Ken Shepherd, has already pointed out how the Washington Post has labeled a mere 54-word apology as "profuse."
Currently the MSM seems to accept the explanation that it was was an obscure official in the White House who caused Air Force One to fly low over New York. Here is more from the same "profuse apology" Washington Post article:
The FAA did not return calls fo comment, and the Air Force referred calls to the White House. But White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, when questioned about the matter at his daily afternoon briefing, said he was unaware of the photo mission.
Finally, in the early evening, Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office, who said he approved the mission last week, shouldered the blame.

PING!
He said he approved the flyover. He didn’t say it was his idea.
Clearly, no one says NO to anyone around O.
The lies, little ones, big ones, and dangerous ones continue unabated from this administration.

That NbyNW pic is hilarious.
The left wants new 9/11 photos to prove the hijackers were not responsible for 9/11 - Bush was.
Now, they have newly discovered photos complete with a plane, NYC, and people in panic.
Perfect. Expect to see these newly discovered 9/11 photos soon. They're coming to an Internet site near you - just in time for the 2010 elections.
Where are the Jersey Girls, demanding to know why the US military didn’t shoot the plane down before it got to WTC site?
Don't worry. They'll come out just before the 2010 elections. They won't refer to them as the new photos, though. They'll say they're 9 years old.
We discussed this in the office this morning. We came to the conclusion that there are only four sites in America that you could have done a photo-op with Air Force One and really been a big picture: The Arch in St Louis, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and the Statue of Liberty.
Then we discussed the political use of the picture. The Statue of Liberty is the only spot where you get max capital out of such a picture. To be honest...if they’d flown over St Louis....probably less than 500 people would have even noticed the plane.
For the most part...its a pretty big joke and the White House looks stupid...acting either “furious” or “defensive”.
This was NOT a photo op.
We need to be demanding the photos now. If they can’t produce them that raises one real big problem for Lord Zero. If they try to pass off some photoshopped pics we’ll know about it.
As I’ve said before, that flyover is the reason privately owned/operated antiaircraft guns are rather “frowned-upon” here in America.
If anything comes out of their mouths that is not pre-approved by Rahm Emanuel, they will no longer be invited to the secret dinners with Lefty media and the off-the-record conference calls. They WILL only be curious about what Rahm TELLS them to be curious about, or they will be shut out from access.
AF1 does not just lift off it takes hours of scheduling...chase jets don’t just show up, they were also aware early on of their mission. The flying Lincoln bed room sounds about right or was Michelle and friends out for a lark? Do you know how a Dictatorship works?
No, and likely never will.
Funny, they never reported who was taking the pictures, or why.
Expect the 9/11 conspiracy nuts to come out with these "new and improved" 9/11 pictures in 2010.
The left is losing control - big time. They need the Bush administration as a distraction. They need a huge rallying issue , and new "proof" that 9/11 was an inside job will do just that. These new and improved 9/11 pictures will show the "real truth."
Oboma is a disaster. The left knows that as much as we do. Their policies would never win them an election. They need a boogie man, and right now the Republicans aren't giving them one. They need the evil BUSH back.
I doubt they talk, they took oaths and those oaths mean something to them, unlike obama.
