WASHINGTON, April 29 (Reuters) - A government official confirmed the first U.S. death from the new H1N1 swine flu on Wednesday, a 23-month-old child who died in Texas.

When I wrote that post, the article I read didn’t mention they were here for any reason. They could have simply been here on vacation, whatever reason. Doesn’t mean they were here illegally or seeking medical treatment.
But, if that is really the case, maybe our failure in saving the life this time will slow them down. I know, wishful thinking.
Katrina. Times 50.
I think you forgot to add the part about blaming illegal aliens for it, even though the cases in the US seem to be US citizens traveling to Mexico and bringing it back. I can see some idiocy stemming from that.
I saw that about the pigs. Not just Egypt. Some Asian countries seem to be moving that way too.
THIS is war.
First US death in Houston, a Mexican boy.
This isn’t matching up with reports that they came to the US for treatment:
She says the child became ill in Brownsville and was taken to a Houston hospital and died Monday night.
I think Obama and co. should put up massive treatment centers on the borders. We are going to treat them, no matter what, so stop them before they can spread the disease as they travel further inland.
"Family values don't stop at the border?"
I guess pandemics also apply.

Yes, nice to know that Houston is now infected. The child died in Houston, not San Antonio as originally indicted:
Kathy Barton, spokeswoman for the Houston Department of Health and Human Services, did not say which hospital treated the child or give any other details about the toddler ... Barton said Houston should expect to see cases originate here.
The child PROBABLY went to Texas Childrens Hospital for infectious disease control...
AND, of course, we can trust that NO OTHER children or staff had been infected at that hospital or along the route from Brownsville ...< /sarc>
It'll only be a few days before it starts popping up in Houston now -- it's already there.
Nice ... so very nice...
Remember that Brownsville and the entire southern tip of Texas are home to many winter Texans/snowbirds. Since the senior population are very likely to be some of the most at risk, *and* they tend to live in RV parks where they socialize a lot, this could become a big problem in those parts.
Ignorance is a very dangerous thing, my FRiend.
That person you quoted in Geneva is LYING.
So is panic.
Now they're called "visitors"?
sw
Wait for all hell to break loose when (and if) they preface “visitor” with the dreaded “U” word...which their lips will hardly be able to say....”Undocumented”. I doubt CNN would even have the balls. When and if that other shoe drops, zowie! watch out!
Better still -- since the US doesn't want to be insensitive and deny any illegal alien medical care, AND they don't want to close the Border -- they need to move ALL treatment facilities to Washington DC.
The Federal government can just fly them up from the Port of Entry.
I'm sure Obama and the Democratically-Controlled Congress will be supportive of that initiative.
This death is essentially a Mexican death stat. The baby was brought in from Mexico during the last week. Not an american citizen who contracted the flu.
Yup, which was why I called bs on him.
Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although that would be unfair to the residents of D.C. ... wonder how they balance their pet victim classes.
Thanks for your post. People that don’t live in border states have NO idea how our healthcare system is over burdened already by Mexican citizens.
We care deeply in Texas for our neighbors across the border in Mexico and most have no problem with them coming here legally and becoming American citizens. But we simply cannot afford to provide every Mexican citizen that shows up on our border with healthcare...PERIOD.
This argument that the virus is already here and it’s too late, (blah, blah, blah) defies logic. The more sick people from Mexico that they let into this country...the more the virus is going to spread.
