I am as sick to death of RINO apologists as I am the RINOs themselves. Too many real conservatives took a lot of flack here on FR during the last mid term and presidential election cycles for expecting Republicans to actually legislate like Republicans rather voting for every Obama-lite candidate with an R after their names who just might be electable. To too many, elections are about partisan score keeping and not about the direction and future of the country.
Many conservatives received a lot of undeserved criticism because they refused to vote straight party line or choose the lesser of two evils, opting instead to withhold their vote when neither candidate represented me. All one need to do to see the folly of voting for RINOs is the passing of the Stimulus, the Prescription Drug program, and the confirmation of pro-abortion appointees and judges.
It isn't about party politics or which party is in power. No party owns me or my vote. It is about principle and voting for candidates who, based upon record and not campaign rhetoric, will work staunchly for the conservative principles I believe in. I would much rather be represented by a legitimately conservative minority party than by a RINO majority who moves us toward socialism only slightly more slowly than Obama.
There are still plenty of people here and elsewhere who are quick to say that it is the fault of conservatives that Obama is in the White House.
They don’t blame the GOP.
They don’t blame McCain.
They don’t blame the likes of Michale Steele.
They blame conservatives for not bowing and scraping before the RINOS.
Feh.
I am liable to cut out the middle man and slap the next RINO! ;-)
what smack you be preaching man?
Oh, yessir ! Nossir ! Aye-aye sir ! Shine your shoes sir ?
Why in Tophet (I’m being nice) should I-or anyone else care what raises your “suspicions” ?
I like your statement “ We’re the base .” Sez who (beside YOU ) ??
Most of you “ We’re the base” people were touting Ron Paul in 2007-2008, and making snarky remarks about “Juan Mc Cain”-who was the actual nominated candidate.
Horse hockey !
So where did that get you on the Stimulus vote?
Me TOO!
You-all talk that way at home, do you ?
Which shows you are utterly unqualified to detect such a trend--any trends for that matter.
Too much "If you're not in lockstep on *every issue*, you're not welcome here."
I've never seen a single person post such a thing. You're obviously hangin' out in the wrong places.
The funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Thanks for the new desktop wallpaper :)
My opinions are far more valid and representative of the GOP brand than those of the RINOs and their apologists. My views represent those of John Locke, Edmund Burke, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and St. Thomas Quinas among others and therefore reflect the intellectual giants and conservative geniuses who shaped the origins of the American conservative movement.
We are engaged in a fight over the future of the GOP and with it the American Republic. I will not concede it easily to those who would go along to get along or sell their children's soul for a government handout regardless of party affiliation. So my question to you is where the h*** did you get the idea that anyone gives a sh*t about what you think?
Hey, Newb. Your incoherent rants have not yet risen to the level of adult thinking. I do encourage you to continue, however, so that someday, somehow you might understand the basic differences between RINOS and Conservatives. As to your esteemed opinion that the majority here were/are Ron Paul supporters, is more like second-hand smoke from a crack pipe than knowledge.
“Losing” Specter was move in the right direction.
If McCain struggles in the polls vs. Chris Simcox, love for him to be the next RINO to “make a deal with devil.” All he’’l have to do is promise Obama he will switch to Dem. and support the agenda and Obama will support his re-election as a Democrat.
That was from the primaries... courtesy of KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle.
An all time classic. :-)
I thought his post 32 was good enough. Yours, on the other hand, reeks of someone who found the Freep while heading for the Big Tent.
Aw, give us a chorus of “Be Kind To Your Web-footed Friends”, so we can all duckwalk to the Right Flank, while you channel St. Thomas Aquinas, John Locke and Edmund Burke !!
whatever you say, sweetheart newbie
Nowhere, but rather than having an automatic vote, there was uncertainty and ‘negotiations’. I realize some here are purists in every sense, but we should be strategic. The fact that we are not strategic, from the GOP on down, is why the rats keep reviving. If we were strategic, some of the Bush budgets would have been a lot lower, etc. I suppose some ‘conservative’ leaders have no idea what to do once they get in power. We must move beyond that.
This is Free Republic, not Free Republican.
Obviously, you can’t handle the truth.
As an exile from NJ, I can understand what that atmosphere can do to you, still being there. There hasn’t been a real Republican there in almost 30 years.
Lose the snarkiness. It does not become you, and you don’t do it very well.
Sez me.
