Okay so about 65% of Yucatan is jungle, over growth, far removed from large complex medical facilities. Is this really news? They’ve probably run the gamut, all been infected and recovered, like dozens of my neighbors here in the State of Mexico.
Cancun is on the Yucatan Peninsula.
The New York high school kids had their spring break in Cancun.
Here is an article from today. Yesterday’s from the same paper also said there was no swine flu there.
Yet the American students who caught the virus all went to Cancun, in Yucatan.
Maybe they caught the virus in an airplane from air crew, or via stop over in Mexico City?

Yes, that’s why I posted it.
Mexico’s a big country. The north looks clean too.
Anyone dumb enough to go to Mexico deserves what they get. The place is a dump and crime is off the charts.
Is he related to Ferdy Pacheco, the “fight doctor” ?
B.C.S. has had no cases either. (Cabo, Lapaz, Todos Santos)
You been to Detroit lately, Bigot?
The US has 36,000 flu deaths per year (3,000 per month and April probably has more than average). That is less than traffic deaths, more than gun deaths.
Mexico probably has 12,000 flu deaths per year (1,000 per month).
When Natalie Holoway pops up, or OJ, Britney, Drew Peterson, etal do something stupid, the media will forget this WAG THE DOG pony show (or is it phony show) intended to justify political goals.
Go rent WAG THE DOG. It’s better written and acted than this current drama.
Cancun is located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The state of Yucatan is the northern coast of the Yucatan peninsula, while Quintana Roo (and Cancun) are on the eastern coast of the peninsula.
Cancun is in Quintana Roo. Yucatan is a state in Mexico and that state is reporting no outbreaks. The Yucatan peninsula is made up of three states: Yucatan on the north, Quintana Roo on the eastern and south side, and Campeche on the western and south side. Three different states make up the peninsula.
Jungle separates them all.
It's all a wonderful place. That fairly modest, three story purple house halfway down the east shore of Cozumel looks to be as close to paradise as is possible in this world.
Are you actually able to see me posting using Google Earth? Scary.
West shore
That’s not my wife. It’s the maid/cook and the pool boy (age 57) is her husband. He also does deep tissue massage and minor surgeries.
Don’t hate me because I live in paradise, OK?

Then you called me a “bigot.”
I reported your comment to the moderator as abuse.
True, but keep it a secret because the U.S. travel industry might need a gummint bailout next!
Tourist areas are never afflicted by safety hazards.
Just ask Chief Brody...
