Senator Arlen Specter (PA), who switched from the Republican to Democrat party on Tuesday (April 28), admitted that he did so due to an unwillingness to let voters decide his fate.
I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate, he said in the statement.
I dont have to say anything to them. Theyve said it to me, Specter said.
Specter, 79, has been a Republican for his five terms in the Senate. However, he had recently come under fire for supporting the Obama stimulus plan and was expected to face a tough primary challenge from Pat Toomey in 2010.
In addition, the state had been trending democratic in recent years, meaning that Specter could have also faced a difficult challenge in the general election if he stayed with his former party.
Don't let the door hit you in the butt, Arlen.
With this type of arrofance, he should be in the Obama administration.
I think it is time for a constitution convention, a new government and guys like this kicked out the door.

“Who are the voters to judge me?...”
THEY ARE YOUR EMPLOYERS, you BOOB!
RINO to be mauled in November 2010.
I am sending Toomey money now!
That would be “arrogance”
As liberal RINO as he is, I think he’s still too “conservative” to win in a DemoRat primary, unless 0bambi and Company have bought off/threatened off all opposition.
Erm, the people who put you into power?
The arrogance of these people is astounding.
What an arrogant, elitist jerk.
The tail is wagging the dog, folks.
Specter is an ideal illustration of the fact that we allow our inferiors to lead us.
He’s nothing but a flexible package of vinegar and water.
Bastard.
Translation: WAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya Mr. Scottish Law.

Theyve said it to me, Specter said, when asked in a Capitol corridor about abandoning the GOP.
He sees his gravy train slipping away and he’s not too happy about it. The thought of working for a living sends shivers down the empty space where his spine use to be. Work is for the peons, not royalty.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but where is it written that Snarlin' is going to be the DemonRAT candidate? He still has to face a RAT challenger in the RAT primary. Maybe we can get Rush to start up another Operation Chaos to get Snarlin to loose the RAT primary. Hee Hee Hee.
Hey Arlen, here’s an original thought...
-How ‘bout you go out and get a JOB for the first time in your life???
Arlen is going to the perfect place for him and his kind. Scum like him belong in the Rat party
