Siren up at Drudge. I guess the "Independent" schtick wasn't working so good.

It's a great way to end a career, being known in the end as the guy who back-stabbed his party for a desperate last grab at the gold ring.

Bye Arlen! Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out!

I'm happy for him. And me.
He's gonna feel right at home in the Democratic Party with the other traitors, nuts, and megalomaniacs.

I believe that your party affiliation should change automatically when you vote with the other party more than 50% of the time, if for no other reason than truth in advertising. Last I heard, Specter voted with the Democrats about 60% of the time.
Let's be honest, Zell Miller should have been a Republican at the end.

If he does that, don’t admire him for it. He just thinks he has a better chance of winning that way.

Wow, he has a conscience. Who knew?
To: kellynla
His problem is that if he loses the primary to Tooney, then he's lost. He cannot thereafter run as an independent. Whereas if he switches to Democrat before the primary process he has a chance to retain his seat.
If he switches, I'm guessing part of the deal will be that the Dem leadership insures that he runs unopposed in the Dem primary, and that ACORN does what's needed to ensure he wins the election.

Good. I was embarrassed to be in a party with a member who would talk in all seriousness about “super-precedents” and other such nonsense.

Specter knows that he will lose in the Rep primary. If that happens, he can’t run as an independent.

This figures. If he is the Dem. Candidate he will win in the General. If he stayed Republican, he would lose in the Primary. Dem Party in PA will probably agree not to run anybody against him in Dem Primary. What a scumbag.
To: kellynla
So will the RNC continue to fund and support his reelection bid?
