No problem getting 9MM, 30-06 or shotgun shells here in NJ.
However, the price SUCKS! I don’t buy unless I see a sale...which there still is believe it or not.

People have to calm the heck down...I know it’s all speculation but do you really need 25000 rounds of ammo? Stop buying for a while so these online rape artists (auctions) get stuck with a crap load of over priced ammo.

Same here in N.E. Ohio. You can get it all, but you’ll pay for it.

I think the panic mongers are running the price up for us weekly shooters.

I would like 25000 rounds in the event we spiral down a depression road or the mexican govt fails and south texas has a flood of illegals. WE do not konw what is going to happen and for how long. And the last thing i want is to be stuck with 100 bullets and no way to get more if they are needed.

I don’t believe that this is what is causing the ammo shortage. While there are some individuals who are stocking up with massive quantities (10,000+ rounds ... and more power to them), these people tend to reload their own stuff. While they are most certainly the cause of the primer shortage, they do not significantly affect the ammo supply.

Instead, there are 10s of millions of ‘casual’ gun owners. They may have a shotgun for home defense, maybe a hunting rifle, etc. Now, with the current economic and political climate, they are thinking it is a good idea to buy that handgun and a few hundred rounds to go with it.

Millions of Americans who have always thought owning is good idea, but never got around to it, are being motivated to get off their butts and learn to protect themselves and their families. This is not irrational. When millions of people do it all at once it does unbalance the supply/demand curve. 20 million people buying 200 rounds adds up very quickly. We will see a shortage of ammo and increase in prices until people feel they have enough to protect their family.

Maybe. What's it to ya? But I put in stores slowly, antipating what we see today. If others had done likewise(the '06 midterms were a hint)we wouldn't be experiencing shortages or price gouging.
