Well, someone in the Obama White House had a nifty idea: wouldn’t Air Force One (well, technically, one of the planes that serves as Air Force One; that name is reserved for the specific aircraft that is carrying the president at the moment) flying around and over New York City, near landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, be a sensational bit of imagery? Wouldn’t video of such flyovers be pure visual splendor?

In a better world, this would be Obama’s “Mission Accomplished” moment. The media would be all over it.
What do you think the reaction would have been if this happened while Bush was president?
What would the MSM have said if Bush said, as Obama did, that the president didn’t authorize it and didn’t know about it? What story arc would they have created about a president out of touch, a president who can’t keep track of the White House assets, etc. etc. etc.
Wouldn’t it also be a large carbon footprint?
