House Democrats have announced a vote could come as early as tomorrow on a "hate crimes" bill that supporters admit might allow federal officials to prosecute Christians who speak out against homosexual behavior.
The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009, or H.R. 1913, passed through committee last week, and according to the Weekly Leader published by the office of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., the bill joins 14 others that could be brought to the floor for a vote sometime between noon tomorrow and the end of the week.
Meanwhile, advocates for the bill are engaged in a strong push to see it passed.
The Human Rights Campaign, which calls itself the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender or LGBT civil rights organization, has designated April 27-29 for a national call-in campaign, urging supporters to contact Congress and pressure the bill's passage.
"We need more calls to Members of Congress, and we need them right away," said HRC President Joe Solmonese. "It has been ten long years and tens of thousands more victims since the Matthew Shepard Act was first introduced in Congress. We are poised for a presidential signature this year, but lies from the radical right could easily derail our efforts."

"Instead of treating all crime victims equally, it creates a caste system where select groups, such as gays and lesbians, are given greater priority in the criminal justice system. This is not progress; it is political correctness.
Political correctness is a more euphemistic term for socialism. Congress needs to here our wrath. Capital toll free switchboard numbers:

Only to the Zombified left could it possibly even MATTER what someone “feels” as they’re committing a crime - or, worse, DEFINING something a crime or not depending on one’s “feeling”.
But, hey, maybe we can claim that hating conservatives counts as a “hate crime,” and throw all of these worthless scum in jail. :-)

Conservatives seriously don’t have the necessary votes to actually stop “everything leftist” on all of the issues. People mean well by trying to stop this “hate crimes junk”, but it will still pass, because the left doesn’t care about “everything non-leftist”. The total left is too drunk with power to actually care about anything else.

When are politicians going to finally understand that ALL crimes perpetrated by one human being against another are hate crimes. If someone hits me over the head I'm just as hurt irregardless of whatever the person said while committing the act. Why should my injuries be looked at differently than others who happens to be within a “protected” class? I was always under the impression that justice was supposed to be blind, not blinded by the false pretenses of political correctness.

Hate (aka thought) crimes were the way Romans prosecuted Christians.

Look at the newspeak - Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009
If it is local, why does it need to be nationalized?
The nationalization of criminal law is a mass danger to individual liberty. We need the states to compete on law to maintain liberty.

Unless the 1st adm to the constitution is stricken this legislation is meaningless. We in the U.S. are guaranteed FREE speech and there is nothing these perverts short of 2/3 majority can do to usurp this right. Unless of course they truly want to instigate war, which actually is probably needed if this anti-freedom “law” is passed.

Concidering that this 1) makes Religion a protected category and potential for a hate crime. As well as equating free speech with requirements for frearm, explosive etc. This is really quite ammusing. So how many people still accept Worldnet Daily's "spin" without checking?
`(2) OFFENSES INVOLVING ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, OR DISABILITY-
`(A) IN GENERAL- Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, in any circumstance described in subparagraph (B), willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive or incendiary device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person-- `(i) shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years, fined in accordance with this title, or both; and `(ii) shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined in accordance with this title, or both, if--
`(I) death results from the offense; or `(II) the offense includes kidnaping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.
