HOWARD MEGDAL: What can 2009 tell us about 2012? If were talking purely polls, not a lot. After all, last election cycle, I was the one arguing that the Rudy/Hillary matchup simply wasnt going to happen, no matter what the polls were saying.
But while I normally fall into line with the FiveThirtyEight.com view on political questions, I think the takeaway from this set of polling questions isnt that Mike Huckabee deserves more respect. Rather, it reinforces just how commanding position Sarah Palin is in for the 2012 GOP nomination.

The GOP nominating either Mike Huckabee or Sarah Palin would assure us of 4 more years of OBAMA!
It’s a shame the republican party doesn’t have better to offer than john mccain and some of the others being talked about.
I will be ill if Huckabee or Palin is the nominee. I don’t think this nation could survive 8 years of a man named hussein.
Gee, that leaves us with Gingrich or Romney, either of whom couldn’t win an election for towel boy in a cathouse.
Let’s try this again.....
Be Seeing You,
Chris
It could be another governor: Sanford and Perry come to mind....
I feel the same way, it’s such a shame. It’s too bad Palin is so pretty, she wouldn’t be getting this attention, seriously. The men promoting her should really be ashamed of themselves, they are going to flush this country down the toilet for what? A pretty woman? They should keep destructive behavior in their private lives, where it belongs. Hey, it they want to ruin their own lives that’s their own business. I don’t think they should gamble away this countries future on their destructive, “throw it all away” proclivities The woman doesn’t have it. No one I ever would support would allow a slime like Couric to make a laughing stock out of them. Palin doesn’t have what it takes, end of story! The woman’s got by on the barbie doll card and her image of a woman holding a shot gun. As a woman myself, that does nothing for me. I am looking for a real leader, someone who can hold their own, not some figure head. People need to decide, do they want a Republic or a Monarchy? If they go for Palin, they are choosing a Monarchy. The woman is nothing more then a front. She doesn’t have the brains. People need to get over it.

LOL! I don't know. Gingrich might have a shot since he traded in his wife on a younger model.
But seriously, people who dismiss Sarah Palin so easily forget just how much she closed the gap before George Soros decided to crash the market to ensure Oba Mao would be elected.
Anytime the MSM is pushing a candidate like Hucksterbee (who managed to finish third in what was essentially a two-man race after Super Tuesday) and smearing a candidate like Palin, it tells you all you need to know.
Gee, that leaves us with Gingrich or Romney, either of whom couldnt win an election for towel boy in a cathouse.

I don’t see any of them beating obama. I believe mitt and newt would have a better shot but, again, I don’t see any of them beating hussein obama.
The GOP is just going to have to do better.
I think Palin is a great American. I just don’t see her as presidential. She needs about 6 years in the senate before she’s ready to run.
Yeah, I know obama wasn’t ready to be president but you’ve got to remember that the media has a different standard for conservatives.
I’m afraid that too many folks complain that she doesn’t have brains or whatever are actually not seeing her, but are seeing the Mccain campaign through her. I hope that being associate with the Mccain campaign and the idiocy of BLINDLY (at first) following what they told her to do, will have marred her for life in the eyes of many folks who would see her much differently without that ASSociation...
I would not vote for huck or mitt for any reason ever. Palin... I would crawl over broken glass and take on a tiger to vote for her.

I think she’s a great American but she IS NOT GOING TO WIN! It’s about WINNING and getting the man named hussein out of the white house.
IF SHE IS THE NOMINEE, WE GET 8 YEARS OF OBAMA!
I’ll be seeing you, cause guess what, we won’t be having a country any more if you insist on Palin. Palin is being used by the left to destroy the right. There are plants from the left who pretend to be conservative who were promoting Palin long before the likes of me ever heard of her. One person comes to mind, Bill Kristol. Yes, he is the same guy who gave you McCain. Figure it OUT!
I bet you would. Case closed, point proven!
Good point, I will go with that. Mitt has too much baggage. As much as I liked him. But I will admit that what you said is true.
Palin doesnt have what it takes, end of story! The womans got by on the barbie doll card and her image of a woman holding a shot gun.- mama

By November of 2012 Sarah Palin will continue to have more relevant executive experience than Barak Obama.
By November of 2012 2008 Sarah Palin will continue to have had more relevant executive experience than Barak Obama... and a whole lot more class!
I disagree with you on one point, if you are going to be some one’s VP, then you can’t be backstabbing them either. She shouldn’t have taken the VP spot then if McCain was so different from her that she would have to be shooting herself in the foot to get along. Palin has this reputation for stabbing her mentors in the back. Her performance later on in the campaign with McCain sure didn’t help that image. I don’t even like McCain, just the whole thing makes me ill. Palin is unsuitable.
