SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has learned that the Shoot Straight Gun Range will no longer be renting out guns at any of its Florida locations.
According to Casselberry Police, 26-year old Jason McCarthy of Winter Springs rented a gun then shot himself in the head at the Casselberry location on Monday evening.
The Shoot Straight Gun Range is the same place where a woman shot and killed her son and then herself earlier this month.
If anyone recognized the name of the gun range this is the same range where earlier this month the mother shot her son while they were target shooting. Now this.
Not much more to go on with this one. I can't find anything yet.

My old range had to restrict gun rental to range members only for that very reason. Massive publicity of one lunatic seems to draw more of them like flies. A pity, really.
Dear God, what a PAIR of tragedies! Hoewver, nevertheless, we must not let the Fed.gov take away our RIGHTS. The 2nd Amendment is SELF-incorporated to all government entities at every level. It is MORE ABSOLUTE than the 1st Amendment, or any of the others, because the wording forbids not only CONGRESS, but ANYONE from infringing on it. The 1st says Congress shall make no law.... The 2nd say shall NOT be infringed! Period! End of debate!
We had suicide at an indoor range here in Austin recently. Woman walked in and shot herself in the head.
I try not to go to public ranges. I have several places in the country I can go with no people and no hassle.
Yeah, I normally keep a close eye on my “range mates” when shooting, but normally only worry about the sideways shooting gangbanger wannabes.
The range has had suicides before but never this close together and never this much publicity, as was generated by the mom shooting her son. The owner is probably calling it quits on the rentals just because of the copycat.
I don’t blame the range. Would not want a bunch of copycat suicide wannabes using my range firearms to do the deed.
Another news site reported he had mental issues, according to the family. Nothing else on this guy has surfaced yet.
I think I need to renew my membership at a local outdoor range.
