Ex-Vatican Ambassador Declines Medal At Notre Dame Commencement, Citing Obama
Please, please, please, grow wings and fly!!!
.... nah... I think that living your life to honor Christ, trying to obey his commandments and not concerning yourself with worldly but spiritual rewards is considered more "honorable" to Catholics.
A medal is just a lump of stuff hanging on some thread from a university that has become, like many, a liberal money machine that shoves students through and is more concerned about what liberal educrats think than about the word of God and the directives of the Catholic church.
Go Irish!!! I think the alumni should just quit funding any programs for the next 4 years. Hit them where they live, the pocketbook. The bureaucrats in charge could care less about spiritual matters but only about the balance of the checking accounts.
Go Mary Anne Glendon! This was absolutely the right thing to do.
The alumni, btw, are stopping their contributions and ND has already lost big bucks. But Jenkins is so determined to serve his lord and master, Bambi, that he is rejecting not only the US bishops but even the alumni contributions in order to go lick his master’s feet.
Will they give the Laetare Medal to Michelle now?
Awesome. Thank you, Mary Anne.
Good for her! I am so glad she has stood against this travesty.
